In an effort to fill the void at tight end that was created by the release of Kyle Brady, and possibly to divert attention from the tight end whom they hope to acquire on draft weekend, the Pats have signed veteran tight end Marcus Pollard.
Pollard is a veteran who spent ten years with the Colts before two years in Detroit and a season with the Seahawks.
The other tight ends on the roster are Benjamin Watson, David Thomas, and Stephen Spach.

Very interesting pickup. Remember the issues the Colts made, especially Pollard on the Patriots linebacking corps and defense about pass interference during the divisional playoffs in ‘05. This should be fun; I wonder if anyone brings this up.

If Thomas is healthy, Pollard’s the third tight end. This is no big deal.

Looks like they are still recovering from when the Vikings snatched up Garret Mills on them last year. I am pretty sure Bill is still mad.

Garret Mills was one of the most disappointing stories in football. He had an incredible season his last year at Tulsa. He was coached extremely well there, and he came to a great program. It’s a shame he sort of disappeared.

Pollard is just insurance against potential continuing health issues for Thomas and Watson. I still think the Pats take Brad Cottam with their #69 or #95 pick.
