Just as the “Days without an Arrest” returned to double digits, the clock was promptly re-set.
According to various media reports, Indianapolis Colts running back Kenton Keith was busted on Sunday, outside the Cloud 9 night club.
Keith is charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting law enforcement, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The delinquency charge comes from an admission by Keith that he helped a 19-year-old attend a party at the club. (If he’d merely been photographed pouring booze down the underaged person’s gullet with a beer bong, it probably wouldn’t be an issue.)
Per the report, Keith and others were dancing in the club’s parking lot and yelling and screaming, even after several warnings to leave the area.
“He kept hollering he was a Colts player, that he wasn’t doing nothing wrong [Editor’s note: Thanks, Emmitt], that he would leave when he got ready.”
Though some teams have been taking a hard line of late against guys who get arrested, the willingness to get tough depends in large part on the quality of the player. In Keith’s case, those 533 yards and four touchdown last season are probably enough to get his knuckles slapped (or, worst-case scenario, thrown against a wall).
Per the rules of Turd Watch II, if the Colts cut Keith by next Sunday, they won’t pick up the 12 points for Keith’s arrest. (And that’s really the most important aspect of this story, isn’t it?)

Good to see nobody is jumping to conclusions and accusing Leinart of a felony!

Yikes…that would take the Colts’ points from 0 to 12. I’m going to go out on a limb and say Manning isn’t very happy about this.

No one should be surprised.
He played up here in the CFL for Saskatchewan for several years, and he was in trouble numerous times for public intoxication and getting in fights with bouncers.
I’m pretty sure he actually has an aggravated assault charge still pending against him up here in Canada.

and this relates to a single guy having a private party at his home with some women how?once again I fail to understand how having said party on the weekend of the off season and during the weekend off of mini-camp can affect his ability to be a starting qb in the league. as for the girls being under age what proof do you have of that other than somebody that wasn’t there saing so.let it go already

No big surprise there. He was a loud mouth blow hard when he was in the CFL who could not stay out of trouble. The only thing that has changed is the team and compensation.
Here’s a link to some of his prior problems…

Maybe if the crown did not stay the charge he would have learned his lesson.

The Colts could make an example out of this guy and cut him. Living in Indiana I’m forced to watch A LOT of Colts games and I gotta tell you Keith just isn’t that good. He had more fumbles, dropped passes, and ran more wrong routes than anyone else on the team. With the draft sounding pretty deep at RB it might be time for Indy to upgrade.

There is still time for the crown to revive the charge. You never know. It’s possible that staying out trouble was a condition of the stay by the crown. Now that’s he’s been arrested 6 months later (even though it’s in another country), that might be cause for those charges to be revived.
I think the Colts should dump the douchebag, just like the Browns should cut Kenny Wright.
