It's obvious that no matter what happens he's finished in Miami. He doesn't want to play there and even if he's not traded his heart won't be in playing. The Phins are in a complete rebuild and should write him off and get what they can for him.

There is a team out there dumb enough to use a first rounder on JT. There always is in these cases. If there's a team out there dumb enough to use two first rounders on a DE with awful character and a penchant for driving on the sauce, surely you could find a team willing to spend a first on a guy with a flawless record and a few good years left.

As a Dolphins fan, though, seeing him go for a 2nd is pretty sad; Chris Chambers went for a 2nd in the middle of last season, and he's a guy who's only been to one Pro Bowl and anyone could tell you just isn't going to get any better than he already is. Seeing JT go for the same compensation would no doubt make some fans very angry.

The Patriots would certainly love to have Taylor. They could use some younger guys like him.

He could probably be had for a second rounder, most likely to an NFC team. If you are the Dolphins that need help at alot of positions, and you could either get second rounder or have him retire and get nothing, why not? I would love to see him in a Packer uni, as we were the team mentioned when Florio wrote about this rumor about a month ago.

I think he would be a good fit in Jacksonville, the Jaguars need him and they might be able to but a ring on his finger!

Im a big Dolphins fan and I think its best for the team to trade Jason Taylor. By the time the Dolphins are good again in 3-4 years, Taylor will be ready to retire. MUCH better to give young players a chance to grow and be ready. I think the dolphins should take as littl as a third round pick for JT. What team would give up a 1st rounder for a two year rental?? Uh..nobody. He's probably only worth a 2nd or 3rd and I think the Dolphins should take it. This is entirely different than the Chiefs wanting to trade Jared Allen who is young (26) and who will still have plenty left when (if) the Chiefs turn things around.

Also this crap about JT not caring about football cause hes doing the TV show and it will effect his being ready for the season? Puhhleaze. JT has been playing football for 15 years now. He knows what to do. Strahan showed up at the end of training camp and did just fine. Its a st00pid idea that it would even bother him to not be at some minicamps.

Taylor deserves to have a chance to play for a winner, and out of respect to what he's done for the franchise, they should honor his wishes, take the high road (as Taylor is), and trade him rather than see him retire and get nothing.

But if anyone in the Dolphins front office, or among their fandom, thinks they have a chance of getting a 1st round pick for a guy who's on the verge of retirement, then they need to use a little less of Ricky Williams' Oregano in their cooking.

>>>If this is true (which is highly, highly doubtful) then whoever leaked it is toast. Parcells will have him gone in a heartbeat.<<<

It doesn't take a lot to figure out that the guy leaking the information is Jason Taylor, or a close associate. Taylor is out in Southern California, where Jason Cole is now based. They've known each other for years, from Cole's days covering the Dolphins for two South Florida newspapers. So if you think Parcells will get rid of the guy doing the leaking, then -- ironically -- the story would have to be true.

For a guy who weathered Wannstedt, Saban, and Cameron, he's sure picking a crappy time to want out. I don't know of many people who aren't convinced that Parcells will have this team turned around in 3 years, which I assume is how long JT will be able to play.

He must be looking at retirement on a much shorter timeframe.

Funny that one poster mentioned Jason's "marriage" to the Fins. Anyone who saw Leno last night must be wondering if Jason's more pressing "trade" desire is to dump his current misses for one night with Tracey Ullman.

this makes it seem even less likely that the dolphins would go with jake long as the first pick. if jason cuts a rug out of town, that defense will be paper thin. hes the only one on that line that commands a double team.

Given his age and contract size, it would be hard to believe that he is worth a first round pick.

If he wants to become an actor and a movie star, then logic would dictate that he would want to play in California, and for a contender in an effort to get maximum media exposure. The only contender at this point is the Chargers, and the Chargers have too many other needs and too few draft picks at this point.

The Chargers IMO, need depth at a wide variety of positions: nose tackle, running back, corner back, offensive line and other defensive line positions. The Chargers also have to re-sign a bunch of players over the next few years. IMO, no way would Taylor become a Charger, certainly not with out his contract significantly restructured and even then, the Chargers have too many players that they have to re-sign over the next few years.

Cole is a publicity seeking idiot. He did this before and obviously has nothing else to report. He will lose any respect he has left with the Fins organization and will lose his "insiders." What a maroon. It may well be thatt Miami and/or Taylor have never intended to stay married to each other, but they have managed to be tight-lipped so far if this is the case. No reason for that to change. If this is true (which is highly, highly doubtful) then whoever leaked it is toast. Parcells will have him gone in a heartbeat.

However, as much as I want JT in Miami it would be fair to him to move him. IF the fins can get a first round pick (or more) for him. Of course he is a monumental talent, but is aging and this team will be ready after he is too old to play at a great level.
