The Saints do not have 4th rounder this year, nor do they have 2 or 3's next year due to Vilma's incentive-laden trade with the Jets.

Shockey is so overrated. This is coming from a Giants fan who has watched his every game. Yeah, okay, Shockey gave the team a spark every 6 games or so. Where did that get them?

He is still being hyped up from his play in the Hall of Fame game as a rookie. He is not bad but he is not as consistent enough to call him good. Plain and simple. Kid can block and can make big plays but he has dropped passes or shot us in the foot some other way year after year.

As a Giants fan who likes (but doesn't not love) Shockey, I have to admit that his performance fell short of all of his media acclaim. Yes, he's an above-average tight end. Yes, he's made the Pro Bowl. However, that's not the strongest position and he's definitely not in the same class as Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, or Jason Whitten. He's made tough catches and added a bit of moxie to a usually meek Giants offense. However, I've watched him drop many balls and potential touch downs over the years. Also, his silly antics on the field (spiking the ball after a routine 1st down or complain to the refs) is something that he should have outgrown by now. I'm hoping the team can get a 2nd and another pick (maybe a 4th?) or 2nd tier player for Shockey. The Saints offense is certainly a good fit for him. If not New Orleans, maybe Seattle.

As a Giants fan, I would not be sad to see him go. The funny thing is, if you go to the Giants message board the Kool Aide has been distributed and consumed by many.

He is being described as an awesome blocker, and someone who rarely drops passes or commits pointless penalties....

I am fine with getting a 2nd rounder for him, but Jerry knows what he is doing....

The guys a crybaby and its no surprise the Giants did so well with him and Tiki off the field. I would ship him out and take the 2nd round pick from the Saints. Giants definitely don't need him harassing Eli for the ball every other snap down the field

I'd give him up for a second round pick, its not like The Boss filled in and helped them win a Super Bowl. Besides, the way Shockey treated the team during and after the playoffs and Super Bowl is just the sign of him having wanted out earlier.

I've never liked Shockey. If I was Coughlin, I'd have him packing pronto.

You can bet the other team involved in trade talks is the Seahawks and the Giants are probably trying to get their first round pick or at a minimum flip flop picks if the guy they like is still there at #25 along with another draft pick later.

This is unfortunate. I liked watching him dismantle his team in the NFC East.

No way he is worth a 2nd and Roman Harper. Maybe we give them a 2nd and Jason(Toast)David. Wouldn't mind having the guy but not for what they want in return. If we trade our 2nd round pick I hope it involves Lito from Philly. We obviously need a corner that can start now.
