its funny how jason campbell is complaining about having three nfc east road games in the first five weeks. in 2006, the eagles had three consecutive road games at wsh, nyg, dal, from weeks 14-16..so that is rough, not three games in september

Jason Campbell is a loser anyway, the Redskins arent gonna do anything this year so he should just shut his mouth. The Eagles are gonna win the division anyway. Go birds!

Arlen Specter probably hasn’t thought much about what network the Eagles are playing on, being that he announced his cancer returned yesterday.

the Pats had one of the most difficult schedules last year….they had Cowboys, Colts, Chargers twice, Giants twice, Jaguars, Steelers and won every game but the last. the schedule is easier this year, so i don’t see how they can’t be favorites to go undefeated again

I was just logging in to comment on Jason Campbell regarding the Eagles in 2006 but see that someone beat me to it.
The Eagles happened to win all 3 of those games…I doubt the Redskins will fare as well.

Did you guys actually LOOK at the Skins’ schedule?
Not only do they play 3 of the first 5 on the road against the division, they play 3 of their last 4 on the road as well. That IS brutal. The schedulers were not kind to Washington this year.
Good luck with those Iggles…you’ll need it this year.

Quick, everyone clamor for the right to televise a team that has a longer playoff victory drought than the Dolphins, Cardinals, 49ers, raiders, and 21 other teams. Marketability doesnt equate with reality. Capitalism, sheesh.

So when Eric DeCosta (Ravens scout) says “This is probably the most critical draft we’ve ever had”, do you think he’s referring to the last 12 or so years, or is he also including the previous 40 years of Browns history?

Henry - last year the Pats farthest road trip was to Dallas, and the farthest from home they went in the last month was Baltimore, this year they have 4 trips to the west coast since they play both west division, i do think that makes it difficult overall.
the other thing is their overall sched look sso weak because the bills/jets/phins were weak. they still play all 3 other 1st place teams from AFC last year and the NFC west champs. they played that many last year too, i’m just saying an east ’schedule’ doesnt mean they play no good teams, its just that way overall cause they do play the really bad teams

I find the fact that the Seahawks were left of the Monday night schedule for the first time since 2003 to be completely irrelevent since the Monday night game is now on a basic cable network with 1/3rd the audience and 1/3rd the relevence it used to have.

A few things. The New York Jets will be happy to come away with Darren McFadden just like I’d be happy to see Giselle Bundchen standing outside of my room. It ain’t gonna happen. McFadden will be gone before No. 6. He’s the best player in the draft. And if he is on board where the Jets select, then the other teams are stupid.
As for Favre … he’s not maybe retired. He knows he can’t play for another team. He’s done, even though he shouldn’t have retired.
Retired.

Awesome for the Bills, late season game against a warm-season team, the weather should be a huge advantage in that matchup.
Oh, wait, the team screwed Buffalo by moving a game, and the Toronto’s screwing the Bills by taking away a nice competitive advantage. Good job, Bills.

Basing a team’s W-L record for this season simply on their opponents’ W-L records from last season is a sucker bet. I predicted the Pats’ 16-0 last season (after they acquired Moss and Welker) based on the off-season coaching/personnel turmoil suffered by their potentially strongest opponents (e.g., San Diego) and the strength of schedule that their opponents had compiled their 2006 records against (e.g., Chicago). Make no mistake, the Pats were, and still are, a superior team, but their 16-0 required some considerable luck as well as great play.
Going undefeated again this year is highly unlikely for the Pats. I doubt they go 6-0 in their division again this year - BUF is coming on and a Parcells-led MIA won’t be a complete patsy anymore - I’d say more like 4-2. San Diego should be back to form this year and IND is always tough at home, so there’s two more potential losses. PIT, DEN and SEA shouldn’t be taken lightly at any time (not that the Pats ever would) and OAK or ARZ could be surprisingly stronger this year. I’d say another potential couple losses among these five games depending on how the teams are playing toward the end of the season (and injuries, of course).
So, this “easy” schedule could just as “easily” add up to 10-6 as 14-2. Split the difference and call it 12-4 and in the playoffs again, but definitely no gimme for a return trip to the SB.

i don’t buy into the “they didn’t travel to the west coast” theory. football is football and it would only be a 3 hour difference. they beat opponents with a combined 70% wins, including their own weak division, now that should tell you something.
they won in Indy, they won in Dallas and they won in NY. it wouldn’t have mattered had they played San Fran, Oak, Sea.
the undefeated season was against great teams, defending Super Bowl champs, first place division teams. the Chargers and Colts are no pushovers but they’re the only ones there that will be favored.
