Edward Roski, a part owner of the L.A. Kings and L.A. Lakers, is ready to bring the NFL back to Los Angeles.
Chargers coach Norv Turner is justifying the trade that sent the team’s 2008 second-rounder to Miami: “There aren’t many guys on the board in the second round that will be as good a player as Chris Chambers.”
Pats coach Bill Belichick, regarding the team’s strategy at No. 7: “I think we can narrow it down to a fairly small number of players. We’ve got a handful of guys that we’re considering, and maybe they’ll be there. Maybe one of them will be there. We’ll just wait and see how that goes.”
The Bills won’t trade QB J.P. Losman.
Former Browns LB Matt Stewart has signed with the Cardinals.
It sounds like Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is trying to generate some trade interest for the No. 22 and No. 28 picks in round one: “[T]he best value in the draft could very easily be in the bottom 10 picks of the first round. We are in an enviable spot. Those picks are highly thought of there.”
RB Darren McFadden is the top player on the Rams’ draft board. (Sounds to us like the Rams would like to entice the Raiders to move up two spots.)
Former Bucs WR David Boston has avoided DUI charges by pleading guilty to reckless driving (even though he wasn’t driving his car when arrested).
Former NFL DT Wally Kleine, 43, has died of heart failure.
The Jags have released S Lamont Thompson.
Pats DT Vince Wilfork says he’s not a dirty player.

Deion politicks for everybody who wants out of a contract with many years left on it.
He said the other day that he talks to Chad Johnson every day, and that in Deion’s opinion the Bengals haven’t made the moves to put a winning team on the field.
As an owner, I would have had enough of that guy on my TV network long ago.
If his completely fake persona hasn’t worn on everybody else, I would be surprised. Why didn’t they get rid of him when they had a chance the last time he was making comments detrimental to team owners? What do you think he is going to be like during the CBA negotiations?

That would be great for just about every team that is not the Jets if McFadden is the Rams top player.
And Mayock is a total joke. Plus Ryan spent 2 years in Mayock’s loser camp. Now Ryan has put up totally mediocre college numbers, and he has “great intangibles” and plenty of other “immeasurable fantasy crap” that makes him “the greatest QB in history”. Mayock disgusts me. He is doing what he can do to get Ryan drafted first. He didn’t even rate McFadden a top 20 prospect for the longest time. I’m not even a McFadden fan and I thought that was ridiculous. Ryan will be added to the names of Leaf/Smith/Leftwich/Grossman/Carr/Harrington and other QB trash who should have never been drafted as high as they were.

You are right Jerry, those are enviable spots. If fact, the Dolphins will gladly take both of those enviable spots and a 2009 enviable spot for their unenviable spot.

Not only should the Buffalo Bills not trade JP Losman … They should START him over Trent Edwards. Losman is better.

(In regards to Mayock and Matt Ryan) At first I responded, “whaaaa??” Then I saw these two nuggets: “He’s a former BC defensive back with close ties to Ryan,” and most importantly, “but he reminds me of Peyton Manning in terms of emotional toughness.”
As for McFadden, I’m right there with him. Guy will never be more than a “lightning” in a “thunder & lightning” tandem. Won’t be a feature back who can carry the ball 20 times a game.

I’m wondering if Mayock is up on Ryan’s strap because they’re both Boston College guys? Mayock talks about Mcfadden’s 23 fumbles for his career as a bad thing but neglects Ryan’s 15 picks last year? learning to hold the ball is easier then learning how to not throw picks in the NFL.

another comment…
I generally like Mike Mayock, but his pimping of a guy he has known since high school, comparing to Peyton Manning, and brushing off the awful interception numbers, smells of Len Q. Pasquarelli and/or Pat Kirwan.
Are you a journalist or a scout, Mayock?

Kudos to the guy who called out Herschel Walker!
The first thing I thought when I saw the story on the news was - You mean to tell me that all 7 (or whatever) of his different personalities each learned the intricate details of an NFL playbook.
Gimme a break. If he had that many personalities, he would have never been able to function on a football field for all those years.
Sorry to sound unfeeling, but that was my first thoughts and apparently others feel the same way.

I like Mayock. I agree that he is pimping his boy too much, but I think he does a good job for the most part. Everyone does things you can criticize if that is what you are looking for.
On a side note, please stop picking on the Most Valuable Dallas Cowboy ever. He is responsible for 2 or 3 Super Bowls for my favorite team.
