Not only did BigMike write a 162 word sentence he doesn't seem to realize Ocho got two $10+ mil signing bonuses in the last 5 years. Yeah...this is a labor issue alright.

As for you Redskins fans....how happy do you think Chad will be if it's Todd Collins or Jason Campbell throwing him the ball instead of Carson?

I imagine that when the TO/Philly disaster was occurring, Mike Brown convinced himself that playing hardball was the best way to handle such a situation (and the way he would handle it). Unfortunately for Bengal fans, I think he's going to discover that it's best just to cut your losses and move on. It's almost impossible to imagine someone with as much ego and pride as CJ caving in and making a professional effort in 2008 under these circumstances.

I think Chad can repay the portion of his bonus not yet earned (still to hit the cap) as a way to facilitate a deal. I know Ross Verba paid back some bonus money to Cleveland in exchange for his release a few years ago. I would think the same could be done as part of a trade deal. Chad's going to want a new contract if he gets traded anyway.

I thought at first it would be best to just let him sit out and pout. However, now, despite the cap hit, I think it would be best for the Bengals to just unload him. We should be able to get a first rounder for him. He is obviously going to be a cancer again, calling out Carson in the media does not help matters at all. I say again because it is obvious that he had some sort of physical altercation with Marvin Lewis during halftime of the 2005 playoff game and since then it has been downhill with the guy in the Nati. Get Ocho Stinko and his grill out of here.

If Chad wants out, can he give back the 8.5M that would be applied to the salary cap? If he really wants out, it seems like he could do this. Admittedly, I don't completely understand the peramiters of these contracts.

It seems like more and more teams suffer at the hands of these overpriced crybabies every year. At what point does the NFL quit making long term contracts?

Sit, Ocho, sit!

why is everyone taking the bengals side just put your self in chads shoes for a minute this no different from people striking at gmc or ford or something if your job started making every aspect around you a living hell you would want to leave but why in chad johnsons case he should shut up and play ball football is his lively hood true he gets paid millions to play but people have got to realize he wants to win and the reason they are not winning clearly isn't chad johnson it is marvin lewis and the bengals front office and the message that they are trying to send is dumb if he dosen't want to play for you get something out of the deal because it is clear he dosen't give a damn about money right now and being honest the bengals need chad johnson more than he needs them because houshmanzada is not a clear cut #1 wide out.

"Mike Brown may be stubborn, but he wasn’t stubborn enough to hold onto Corey Dillon when he wanted out."

Corey Dillon was the team's backup running back; he lost the job to Rudi Johnson. Getting a 2nd round pick for a backup rb with a bad attitude was a great move! Brown could not have played his hand any better.

I love me some Ocho Stinko. Why would you force that man to be a Bungle if he does not want to be.

Let him buy out his contract.

Free Ocho Stinko. He can play here in Harm City. It is a lot more fun to beat the Bungles than play for them.

Bengals fans.....I won't cry for you "no mo". He's all yours. Enjoy the season with Ocho Stinko! What a great name for him. It's so fun to watch this debacle unfold. For further entertainment, get your popcorn ready and watch the Youtube video.

Chad may get negative media attention but Randy Moss and TO proves that it's all about what you have done lately. If he were to get traded everyone will forget soon enough how he cheated his former employers by forcing their hands in accepting sub standard deals.
He just needs to weather the storm like TO and Randy and then everyone will forget and bow down to them.

What's with WRs these days anyhow?

As a die-hard bengals fan I want nothing more than to see this team win, which is something that they have not done more than 50% of the time we have had psycho on the team. He is fast and usually catches the long ball, but don't expect anything else. Chad's YAC is pathetic and the tough, contested catches are the exception, not the rule. So go ahead Cowboys, Raiders or whomever, take Mr. Soundbite off of our hands so that we can get a real receiver with reliable hands and a modicum of toughness.

It's so frustrating to be a Bengals fan. In the 90's our owner wouldn't pay for talent in FA. In the 2000's we continue to suck it up until Marvin comes to town and gives us hope only to have our draft picks turn into the turds they are. Now, our owner finally starts to show an interest in competing and our star player is whining like a little b*%ch!

I hope Mike handles this like his father would, bench him. Either way this season is a waste. If he plays the distraction is too much to overcome. If he sits the distraction is too much to overcome. Trade him and we lose 8 Million.

The only thing that would make this Bengals fan happy is to have Mike and Marvin continue to play tough and at least make a statement by sitting him. Let him cry and do push-ups or sit-ups in the driveway. Chad is nothing more than a little girl. When did it become acceptable to cry and moan when your making millions? Stand up with us NFL fans; it's the only way to quiet these little girls.

Time for Dan Snyder to make that big off-season splash it's no secret the skins want him we have 9 draft picks to work with too Jim Zorn wants a big receiver for his offense why take a chance on a unproven rookie I say trade the 21st pick and a 4th rounder for him everyones happy except for Bengals fans but that's not in issue to me

OCHO-CINCO IN D.C. FOR '08!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"CJ and TO??? Not even Jerry's that stupid!"

Don't be so sure. Remember this is the guy who wants Pac-Man Jones in Dallas, the city with the most strip clubs in the country.

Imagine that: T.O., Ocho Cinco, Pac-Man Jones, and Jerry Jones. Suddenly The Island of Misfit Toys isn't just a funny pic of the day anymore.

This is a farfetched idea, but for the sake of football fans everywhere, especially those who love to see good football being played, why don't the Pats send their #7 to Cincy, along with some player for Mr. Johnson? Can you imagine watching the Pats play? The NFL would have to change their schedule to put every Pats game on National TV, and demand that they play indoors during December and the playoffs. And this is not coming from a Pats fan.

It seems to me that the league has to step into this situation. Perhaps the commissioner needs to have a talk with Mr. Johnson.

No team should have to deal with this situation alone. This type of situation can happen with any team at any time and I believe it is going to take the leadership of the commissioner to resolve this issue.

I do agree with Johnson on one point. Carson needs to stay out of this completely.

I have a feeling he will be traded...

Mike Brown may be stubborn, but he wasn't stubborn enough to hold onto Corey Dillon when he wanted out.

Dallas Fans: Forget about landing Chad, or any top caliber wide receiver for that matter. If Chad (or whoever) was traded the to Girls, he would presumably seek a new (big money) contract. Do you honestly think T.O. is going to sit around quietly while that happens? Or do you think he'd start crying and moaning that HE deserves that money??

Guys there is no point in trading Chad. You aren't going to get equal value. AND with him sitting out you get your money back in fines and retrieving paid signing bonuses that you gave him. I say be stubborn, and let his sorry butt sit out. Show that the inmates don't run the asylum.

Hey, it only took Corey Dillon 4 years or so to get his wish. So Chad just has 3 1/2 years to go until Mike gets done holding him in Cincy with his current contract & possibly F-tags until he longer has the talent to demand a big contract.

Does anyone know how many years he has left on his current deal? (Sorry if I missed it in past articles)

As a Browns fan, I think I'll sit back and make a big bowl of popcorn now.

Seriously, I pray the Bengals play hardball with this tool. I feel really sorry for the good Bengals fans. Unfortunately, the organization is reaping what it has sown.

This is comedic. Is he twelve years old? Does he really believe he is being mistreated...? Is his biggest compaint that "people" in the orginazation blame him, and him alone for the past two mediocre seasons? Really?. I think his IQ must hover around 71-72. Child, absolute child, and a head case to boot! Im a huge Bengals fan and I would take heavy consideration in trading him to the Lions or some other bull#$%@ team for absolutely nothing but the opportunity to stick it to him twice a year. I think we need Supernanny to save this chump

Most of us huge Bengals fans are hoping for huge defensive draft & i'd trade 85 in a heartbeat for a chance to get 2 defensive playmakers. Like Sedrick Ellis @ #9 & maybe Kenny Phillips later in the 1st. I would sacrifice Chad to solidify the defense.

This is going to be a long year for Bengals fans. As a huge fan myself and former Chad supporter, I am not looking forward to the mass amounts of negative coverage that will come from this. I felt for Philly fans in '05 with TO, and I don't see it being much different during the pre-season, including Bengals' front office refusing to deal him. This team can't afford this kind of distraction, they simply don't have the winning mentality to overcome it and get ready for a tough beginning of the season.

Chad- get your head on straight. Shut up and play.

Unfortunately, it is financially impossible to trade Chad. Well, not impossible but it would involve them cutting about 5 players and not being able to sign any draft picks.

The Vikings should trade Bryant McKinnie to the team he was born to play for. He is just wasting away on J.V. here in Minnesota. Has he not proven his skills for anti-social behavior? We could get a pain in the butt receiver in return. We have experience handling a player like that and Chili has dealt with the worst in T.O. Send Bryant McKinnie "home"!

It will never happen, but how sweet would it be if all the other owners issued a statement that contracts are legally binding documents (which they are everywhere but in the NFL) and thus they have no interest, nor will they make attempts to get Chad until and unless the Bengals approach them. Unfortunately, that's the only way this kind of crap will ever stop. I wonder how long the Cowboys can manage to be the life preserver for every idiot in the NFL. At some point, they will go one turd too far. It will be fun to watch the implosion when it happens.

"It's a crucial 3rd and 7 for the Bengals in this important mid-season game here in Pittsburgh. A minute twenty left on the clock, and the Bengals are down 4 points. Palmer and the Bengals break the huddle and get set at the 23-yard line. Palmer is reading the defense, and...oh no! Chad Johnson with the off-sides penalty! Talk about a momentum killer. Now it's 3rd and 12! And why is Johnson smiling?"

Sure, as fans we would like to see the owner stick it to Chad. But even if the owner wants to, at what time do Bengal players express frustration having him around? The press will also demand how sitting him is helping a team with veterans at the QB, RB, and WR position whose window of opportunity is now. The fans will get restless, boo, not buy tickets.

In the end, it seems like a no-brainer to take a 1st rounder for this guy. Even if he plays, how much does he help the team win when you factor in everything?

Teams that might want Chad and have a mid-low 1st round pick: Seattle (west coast guy, small window in Seattle), Minnesota (doubt coach wants to deal with it, but imagine pairing him with AP), Tampa Bay (Gruden always willing to take on O players), Indianapolis (??whoa), Washington could use him, though I doubt Zorn wants that his 1st year.

This sucks. Chad used to make it fun to be a bengals fan and now he's ruined it. On top of it all he's throwing Palmer under the bus, an all time low even for him...yeah, classy.

I've been a bengals fan my whole life...he's not going anywhere. I don't even think Brown would trade him for "equal value." Hooray, we've got a full blown cancer...

As with any other Team you simply cannot have two marquee Receivers in todays NFL. With the Top WR commanding a salary of at least 10 million per year each. I simply don't see how the Cowboys could trade for Chad and Financially get away with prospering in other positions on that team.

I really don't think that Chad is going anywhere this year. Due to the cap hit that the Bengals would endure because of the trade. Which sucks for the Bengals who will enjoy yet another year not sniffing the playoffs due to the disruption 85 will cause.

The Bengals would take a cap hit of about $8.5 million (something like that)if they were to cut or trade him. Mike Brown is one of the cheapest owners in all of football. Basically Chad is going to sit and rot on the bench and be fined for not showing up. Brown might have ignored alot of off the field stuff, but when it comes to that guys money, hes all over it and hes not going to bite the bullet and take that cap hit

I hope Mike Brown is the most stubborn owner in the league. Because that's exactly what the NFL needs is someone to tell these a-hole players like Chad and Terrell to shut the heck up and play football.

Otherwise they can sit their complaining asses at the end of the bench and rot.
