Michigan State receiver Devin Thomas, who could be one of the only wideouts take in round one, has three additional team visits scheduled.
Per a league source, Thomas is meeting with the Redskins, Cowboys, and Raiders. Thomas previously was scheduled to work out for the Ravens this week.
Surely, the Raiders aren’t considering Thomas at the No. 4 overall selection. Or are they? The Raiders don’t have a second-round pick or a third-round selection.
Perhaps the Raiders are planning a possible move down, and are doing their homework in the event that they’re picking lower in round one.

they’ll trade with Dallas for their 2 picks, Davis told me.

He would be better than McFadden or Gholston.

Todd McShay in his latest mock draft has the Bills reaching for Devin at number 11, unless they are able to trade down. This is consistent with the recent draft strategy of the Bills where they have consistently targeted a player they want and if they can’t trade down, simply take the guy anyways.

I like the idea. I wouldn’t mind seeing Skins draft this man either. But he would be a nice addition to the silver and black, and the wr position needs to be tapped in Oakland.

The Ravens just might take him at 8. Since When has the top WR not been concidered a top 10 pick? Once or twice in the last 10 years? Thomas looks like a potential Roy Williams or Andre Johnson type of WR.

Ginn went 9th last year. I know many people laughed but before he injured his foot he was a top 10 pick on most boards, and the Texans were planning on taking him 10th, so either way he would have been to 10.

I keep think of Charles Rogers for some reason…

Charles Rogers turned out to be a bust, but he would be the number 1 pick in this draft if all we had seen was his college film and workouts. Ryan Leaf would have been picked over Peyton by plenty of teams given the same info.
Fans always seem to forget how hard it is to make an impact in the NFL even for a first round pick.
Rodgers and Leaf may have developed into pro bowl players if they had gone to different teams later in the draft and had a chance to develop before playing bad and getting hurt as rookies.
They turned out to be bad picks, but not dumb picks.

Lets not try to assume what moves the “Raiders” are going to do. They throw conventional wisdom out the window. They now own “Javon Walker”, he and his water knee is the future of their franchise right! Why would they need Devin?

Man, it’s crazy what pre-draft hype can do for a player. What was Thomas’ production again? He was a one-year-wonder who will parlay that into a huge payday in the NFL, at least for his rookie contract. Now, he may turn out and prove me wrong, but there is just sooo much risk with taking him in the top half of the first round based solely on one good year in college against a very bad Big 10.
