As reports and rumors fly of the long-awaited trade between the Titans and the Cowboys for cornerback Pacman Jones, Terry McCormick of the Nashville City Paper reports that the ‘Boys have increased their offer for Jones, who remains on suspension more than a year after being booted from the league.
Per McCormick, the new offer is “significantly more” than the late-round pick (reportedly a sixth-rounder) that the Cowboys previously put on the table.
Adam Schefter of NFL Network reported on Sunday that a deal could be done as soon as Tuesday.

The Cowboys had to up the ante. Mike Vick’s prison team go into the bidding for Pacman with the Titans.

Has there ever been a ‘no stripclub’ clause in a contract?

Jerry, for God’s sake cool it.
You are bidding against yourself.
Offer a 5th and back away forever unless these idiots decide to take the only offer they are going to get. Don’t let them make a fool of you. Your too smart for that.

Odell Thurman got 2 years and did alot less than what Pacman has been involved in. Even though ‘America’s team’ wants him, he shouldnt be reinstated.

You mean no “gentlemen’s clubs”, right ? He doesn’t go to trashy places like strip clubs.

Pacman will be just fine, Michael Irvin will take him under his wing. I think PTF should hold a contest to be the offical counter re-seter the first time Pacman gets arrested in Texas.

anything better than a 6 this year w/ a possible performance based pick for next year is absolutely stupid. just another example of Dallas bidding against themselves - see also,. T.O.

Boys are nuts. No one else including the Titans wants this guy. The Titans will just release him if Goodell actually reinstated him, which seems highly unlikely.

I once got lost in Dallas (going from Southlake to Plano), don’t know how I did it, but found myself going down a road with strip cl … gentlemen’s clubs to the left and right. It wasn’t until about 2:00 a.m. that I got unlost … Pacman’s gonna like Dallas at its police officers … real friendly folks (if their strippers are any indication).

WTF McCormick? You are going to put this story out there without ANY mention of what the new offer is, just that it’s significantly more than before?
This the kind of story that “real media” love to kill bloggers for posting yet he can get away with it because he has “sources close to the situation”. jackass

If the Cowboys are offering to up the ante, does that mean Jerry J has inside information from the league that PacTurd will be re-instated? I can’t imagine that JJ would engage in talks that would be fruitless. He is a billionaire and smarter than me but what would be the point?
I agree with Johnny H, PFT should do a “PacTurd pool”, kind of like a “death pools” with celebrities. My prediction is he’ll be arrested 123 days after becoming a Cowboy IF he is
re-instated. I’ll be counting.

Prize: Two tickets to the Super Bowl this year.
Tie breaker: Name the “Gentlemen’s Club” in which he gets arrested.

Significantly could just mean they offered a 5th round instead of 6th.
It would be significant and they shouldn’t offer anything better than that.

Dallas wasn’t bidding against themselves with TO, I’m pretty sure the Broncos were one of a few other teams interested. If I remember correcly, the Cowboys were the only team that wasn’t offering an incentive-laden contract, but instead were willing to give him guaranteed money. It worked out with TO, maybe the fact the Cowboys are the only team willing to give something for PacMan will work out for them as well.

Sheesh guys. If I were the Tennessee Titans, I’d accept nothing worse than a third rounder. The guy is amaaaazing at football. Try to get what you can. Jerry Jones is not stupid for making his offer better. Though Pacman is messed up and I hate the fact that he allegedly was the catalyst behind an event that caused a man to be paralyzed for life, he does have a lot of incentive not to get in trouble again.

Ok, I am an Eagles fan and would like nothing more than to see Dallas do poorly this year, but for the sake of the NFL and the one or two Cowboy fans that have some dignity and pride, DON’T ENCOURAGE THIS KIND OF PLAYER

Do not forget that this guy can straight up play, he is absolutely worth a 5th rounder if that is what the Cowboys mean by upping the ante. Jerry Jones will straighten him out.

Me thinks Jones has a serious Jones for Jones. And when Jerrah “gots” a Jones for sumthin’, the NFL usually stoops to give it to him.
