Vox V - Forget Jerry Jones and the Cowboys. I hate them and will throw a dig in anytime I can.

I have a question for you: Do you think ticket prices/concessions/parking are fair?

DC Guy, do you see the NFL suffering through empty stadiums? Seems to me that the market is handling the ticket prices. I'm not sure how you can pin all rising ticket prices on Jerry Jones since his efforts have been all about alternative revenue sources, but whatever. Nobody's forcing you to buy a ticket, and the NFL ain't suffering. As far as the TV channel goes, Cowboys already did it, it's what caused the NFL to get off it's butt regarding the creation of the NFLN. Lastly, every team drops a turd now and then. Why chastise the Cowboys for following suit?

Easy Tex Big Balls, easy now. Way too much man-love toward Jerry. Along with him "jacking" up sponsorships and fees, he's also helped to jack up ticket prices. I won't even comment on the "television channel" thing, the "inferior" comment or most laughable "Jerry Jones is the NFL". Jerry is getting ready to drop a PacTurd and I can't wait to see how it unfolds.

Let's face it, Jerry Jones is the NFL.
He introduced private sponsorship, jacked up broadcasting fees that the NFL can charge and was voted by his peers to represent the NFL Network. Soon the Cowboys will have their own television channel.
With the exception of Bob Kraft, who is BFF with Jerry, any other NFL owner is inferior.

If Mr Jones can swap his two first rounders for McFadden, land Pacman and get another good CB prospect in the 2nd or 3rd round, I'd be impressed.

I'd rather he trade one of his first rounders for Detroit's Roy Williams or Anquan Bouldin while using the other on a top corner, but then again I haven't put together 3 Super Bowl winning squads. Either way I hope it works out... Go Cowboys!

"Whats the cowboys record without Jimmy Johnson or Parcells"

Jones did win a Super Bowl without either of them.

"Yeah Wade took them 13-3 last year, with the Tuna’s roster. "

That's right. A roster that the Tuna went 9-7 with in 2006. 'Nuff said.

The Pacman will never "clean up"...anything he does now or in the future to present a notion that he has changed is a facade. He WILL screw up again, and if it's after he is reinstated there will be a lot of egg to go around.

And let's get this right, Jerry Jones may be a smart business man, but he's an idiot when it comes to football. Whats the cowboys record without Jimmy Johnson or Parcells? Nuff Said! Yeah Wade took them 13-3 last year, with the Tuna's roster. I guess time will tell.

The Cowboys have upped the ante to include a 4th Rounder, a signed copy of "King of the Cowboys: The Life and Times of Jerry Jones," a $50 gift certificate to Applebee's and a pair of panties once worn by Jessica Simpson.

As I've said before...some of us DO still have a little Cowboy pride...but it seems those are the fans JJ simply ignores...which is why, whatever he does in this situation, still can't hide the fact he even considered adding this punk to the team...Goodell, do the right thing...for the fans and the youth that will be fans down the road...clean this wad of scum from the bottom of your boot...and don't stop with Adam Jones.

You want a legacy that will last 100 years? Clean up the NFL at all costs.

The reason Jones is wiling to up the ante is it will be cheaper to get Pacman this way. If the Titans release him, you will see a sudden flurry of teams willing to forget those little errors in his past. I don't have to like it, but Jones is just being smart. If Pacman has "cleaned up" Jones wins. If Pacman hasn't, the behavioral clauses in his contract should help protect the Cowboys...Jones wins.

Considering the fact that Goodell works for the owners, you shouldn't be surprised that he can be swayed by the particularly influential ones. Besides, being under contract to the Cowboys SHOULD give Pacman a better shot at being reinstated. As has been mentioned before, their methods with dealing with problem children work. Only one Cowboys player has been arrested in the last 5 years, and he was cut within hours of getting booked.

The only intelligent statement in this thread is the one stating;

"If the Cowboys upped the ante, the deal with the commish for reinstatement is done."

Thats really sad that the new sheriff has no ethics when it comes to the will of a few influential owners. I understand the "don't bite the hand that feeds you" thing, but come on!.

Significantly more? I'll believe it when I see it. The Cowboys' 5th and 6th round picks in this draft are only 4 picks apart. The Titans are asking for a 4th so if the Cowboys were willing to do that it would be a done deal already.

Me thinks Jones has a serious Jones for Jones. And when Jerrah "gots" a Jones for sumthin', the NFL usually stoops to give it to him.

Do not forget that this guy can straight up play, he is absolutely worth a 5th rounder if that is what the Cowboys mean by upping the ante. Jerry Jones will straighten him out.

insanity, plan and simple, where are you vox veritas! Where is the voice of truth!!!!!???? Ok, I am an Eagles fan and would like nothing more than to see Dallas do poorly this year, but for the sake of the NFL and the one or two Cowboy fans that have some dignity and pride, DON'T ENCOURAGE THIS KIND OF PLAYER

Sheesh guys. If I were the Tennessee Titans, I'd accept nothing worse than a third rounder. The guy is amaaaazing at football. Try to get what you can. Jerry Jones is not stupid for making his offer better. Though Pacman is messed up and I hate the fact that he allegedly was the catalyst behind an event that caused a man to be paralyzed for life, he does have a lot of incentive not to get in trouble again.

Dallas wasn't bidding against themselves with TO, I'm pretty sure the Broncos were one of a few other teams interested. If I remember correcly, the Cowboys were the only team that wasn't offering an incentive-laden contract, but instead were willing to give him guaranteed money. It worked out with TO, maybe the fact the Cowboys are the only team willing to give something for PacMan will work out for them as well.

Significantly could just mean they offered a 5th round instead of 6th.

It would be significant and they shouldn't offer anything better than that.

“Pacman will be just fine, Michael Irvin will take him under his wing. I think PTF should hold a contest to be the offical counter re-seter the first time Pacman gets arrested in Texas.”

Prize: Two tickets to the Super Bowl this year.
Tie breaker: Name the “Gentlemen’s Club” in which he gets arrested.

If the Cowboys are offering to up the ante, does that mean Jerry J has inside information from the league that PacTurd will be re-instated? I can't imagine that JJ would engage in talks that would be fruitless. He is a billionaire and smarter than me but what would be the point?

I agree with Johnny H, PFT should do a "PacTurd pool", kind of like a "death pools" with celebrities. My prediction is he'll be arrested 123 days after becoming a Cowboy IF he is
re-instated. I'll be counting.

WTF McCormick? You are going to put this story out there without ANY mention of what the new offer is, just that it's significantly more than before?
This the kind of story that "real media" love to kill bloggers for posting yet he can get away with it because he has "sources close to the situation". jackass

I once got lost in Dallas (going from Southlake to Plano), don't know how I did it, but found myself going down a road with strip cl ... gentlemen's clubs to the left and right. It wasn't until about 2:00 a.m. that I got unlost ... Pacman's gonna like Dallas at its police officers ... real friendly folks (if their strippers are any indication).

Jerry, for God's sake cool it.
You are bidding against yourself.

Offer a 5th and back away forever unless these idiots decide to take the only offer they are going to get. Don't let them make a fool of you. Your too smart for that.
