Retired (for now) receiver Keyshawn Johnson is still thinking — and talking — about playing football again.

According to the Miami Herald, Johnson recently expressed confidence that the man who coached Meshawn in New York and Dallas would make a spot for him in his latest NFL venture.

”I’m pretty sure if I wanted to come to Miami, Bill Parcells would say OK,” Johnson said.

The question is whether Keyshawn wants to go to Miami, or anywhere other than the place where he’s under contract for at least another year to get paid handsomely to talk about football.

Though ESPN could likely fill his spot in a second, it’s only fair to the folks in Bristol that Keyshawn make a decision sooner rather than later, so that ESPN can plan accordingly.

Before Johnson decides to bolt, he needs to ask himself whether he really thinks that another network job will fall out of the sky the next time he retires.  There are plenty of former players who would love to talk about football for a living, and there are plenty who would be at least as good as Johnson, who didn’t quite deliver during the 2007 season on the potential that he flashed while working the draft for ESPN earlier that same year.
