Retired (for now) receiver Keyshawn Johnson is still thinking — and talking — about playing football again.
According to the Miami Herald, Johnson recently expressed confidence that the man who coached Meshawn in New York and Dallas would make a spot for him in his latest NFL venture.
”I’m pretty sure if I wanted to come to Miami, Bill Parcells would say OK,” Johnson said.
The question is whether Keyshawn wants to go to Miami, or anywhere other than the place where he’s under contract for at least another year to get paid handsomely to talk about football.
Though ESPN could likely fill his spot in a second, it’s only fair to the folks in Bristol that Keyshawn make a decision sooner rather than later, so that ESPN can plan accordingly.
Before Johnson decides to bolt, he needs to ask himself whether he really thinks that another network job will fall out of the sky the next time he retires. There are plenty of former players who would love to talk about football for a living, and there are plenty who would be at least as good as Johnson, who didn’t quite deliver during the 2007 season on the potential that he flashed while working the draft for ESPN earlier that same year.

I’d like to see Key stay with ESPN. He does a nice jub, and has an egaging personality - not to mention that he speaks English.

Well, if he does come back, hopefully he won’t be wearing that gay scarf he wore over superbowl weekend.

I think he just saw how Favre has been milking the ego-cow and wanted to pull on that teat himself.

Keyshawn Johnson wouldn’t even be that good at football anymore. He had his career. He was very, very good. Not excellent. He should keep the job he has that many others want. His return would not be memorable.

Yeah, let’s bring Keyshawn to Miami, because the best possible way to bring along Ted Ginn Jr. is to teach him how to act like a complete ass.

So your platform is you feel you can make the roster of a 1-15 team that lost Chris Chambers and Wes Welker over the last season?

Please give a ball to Key and Favre and let them toss it around in the backyard…I’ve had it with both guys.
Of course, Favre would still throw a pick.

My question is…how long will this myth about how Parcels comes in and saves teams go on? All he does is change addresses and brings along as many of his old posse that he can…add Keyshaun to the list? Sure, why not.

Yeah, Key really ‘flashed’ at the draft last year. Like when he said he’d take care of D. Jarrett in Carolina.
