Former Minnesota Vikings defensive end Carl Eller, a Hall of Famer who at one point sported one of the worst hairpieces we’ve ever seen, has been arrested and jailed on multiple charges.
Eller is charged with DUI, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer.
Per media reports, Eller was pulled over after spotted driving erratically. He reportedly refused to take a breathalyzer test, and then had a “physical confrontation that left one officer with facial injuries.”
As a reader pointed out, Eller might still be the answer to the team’s needs at defensive end.

I kind of feel sad for old Moose. He’s had his substance abuse problems since he left the game. At one time, he seemed to get clean and get his act together and even worked as a counselor in the community.
As far as I know, he never had on or off the field issues when he was an active player. Retirement can be tough on an old war-horse.

The way this story begins reminds me of when I went to training camp a couple of years ago. Carl Eller had a booth set up where he was selling autographs… The sign above the tent said…” Meet former legend Minnesota Viking, Carl Eller.” Now anyone who has seen any of my posts should now Im not a rocket scientist when it comes to english… But who can tell me what was wrong with that sentance.. Well I pointed it out to Carl.. when I walked by 5 minutes later the sign was down…..

If you’ve never met Carl, he’s one of the nicest people out there. Always willing to lend a hand or talk about the old days. He’s a genuine pleasure to be around. We all have our crosses to bear. Addictive substances is Carl’s. I love him just the same.
With 22 of him playing for the Vikings we’d be a winner again.
