Even David Carr and Tim Couch was thought to be able to turn a franchise around. No matter what the position is there is always a gamble with the 1st overall pick. All a team can do is pick the player that they think will most likely help their team. I am no expert but I would think character would be a big part into making a player into the 1st overall pick because even if that player fails at 1st they are more likely to over come their flaws. Mario Williams did not succeed until late in his rookie year. I think both Longs have great character and will be stars at their positions.
