Hmm… If the owners really wanted to do something to benefit the entire league, they would find some way to run Danny-Boy out of the Billionaire Boys Club. After all those interviews, and all those solid coaching candidates who were not interested in working for Danny-Boy, what the storied Redskins franchise ends up with is an average-to-above-average quarterback’s coach who is incapable of saying anything right or impressing anyone to run the team. Danny-Boy has the organization so screwed up that Zorn was one of the few people who would actually take the job… mostly because there is no way in the world anyone else was ever going to give him such a shot at this stage of his career.
Say what you want about Joe Gibbs’s second run with the ‘Skins, he at least deserves a modicum of respect for a Hall-of-Fame career. What on Zorn’s resume possibly qualifies him to sport this kind of an attitude?

As someone who lived around Detroit for 45 years, I frequently found myself having to root for other teams and I liked the Skins a lot during the Riggins years. But I have to say, with their current ownership, they’re looking more like the Lions every season.
