Bengals receiver Chad Johnson, who currently is wired to find fault with anything/everything the franchise does, doesn’t care for the team’s decision to cut receiver Chris Henry.
Ocho Stinko apparently learned of the decision from ESPN Radio’s Max Kellerman during an on-air spot. And Stinko says he doesn’t like the move.
“Are you sure? Man, they can’t let him go. That dude is good. He’s very, very good,” Johnson said.
“We need him. Those are not easy shoes to fill, regardless of the trouble he has gotten into in the past.”
The good news for Bengals fans is that Johnson still apparently regards himself as a member of the team. The bad news is that this apparently will be another stick planted in Johnson’s craw. And/or his ass.
We’ll be back in a bit; we’re out of popcorn.

Chad needs to STFU and play football. That’s what he’s paid (and paid very well) to do.

Hey Stinko…Henry’s problems are not in the past. He won’t let them get there. His problems are always current. CFL?

Who really cares. I’m tired of his act. Let him join the labor pool and find himself a real job like the rest of us. Then he’ll have something to bitch about.

I agree with MelKipersHair request that Florio “should post a poll to see who the readers believe is a bigger dumbass”.

The bigger dumbass is Pacman Jones, MelKipersHair. Also, I wrote a reply somewhere else that guys like Chad Johnson, etc., if not in trouble off the field, shouldn’t receive the same type of coverage as the Michael Vicks or the Leonard Littles of the world.
But at the same time, there is no denying that Johnson is being an enigma. His point has already been made. I don’t know where exactly he is in his contract … but if the Cincinnati Bengals will not budge at all (and the management of that organization is a pretty big joke, even though it deserves credit for the previous few seasons, excluding ‘07), then what Johnson should do is simply wait for free agency — and cash in the $$$ and join a contending team.

Mr. Stinko certainly doesn’t sound like a player expecting to play for another team next year does he?
“WE” need him?
Certainly sounds like he is thinking he’s a Bengal to me.

Well, I guess Chad forgot about Housh, who’s a very legit threat without all the very legit legal/behavioral/sociopathic problems.

I listened to this interview live and the best parts aren’t even mentioned….
Louie-the-call-screener called Johnson in the morning to see if he wanted to follow-up with Brian Kenny from the previous day’s awkward interview in which Johnson replied something to the effect of ‘call back at noon, that’s when I wake up’ When they called back at noon they were several minutes into the interview before they dropped the bombshell that Chris Henry was released in which Johnson sat and waited for the punchline that never came. Kellerman and Kenny said this isn’t an April Fool’s joke (something Florio would do!) and that “we are live on the air so you can’t sit there silently.” As we approached the 1pm hour Johnson agreed to take questions from callers as he sat in the parking lot of the local Perkins anticpating his pancake breakfast. Now I know why these guys choose to stay away from volunary OTA’s and “workout on their own.”
