@SoCal Bengal:

"Their mishaps have been greatly surpassed by several teams in the league; JAX and Pitt come to mind."

You're seriously comparing the all-time turdishness of guys like Frostee Rucker (rapist), Chris Henry (what doesn't he do?), AJ Nicholson, Quincy Wilson, ...

to a few simple assaults in Pittsburgh?

Wow -- I know you guys don;t like the Steelers, but let's be honest here... your team drafted some serious garbage and you have to pay for it.

I don't know about the theroy that the club owner saw a chance to squeeze the players and took it. If I'm a club owner I want to make my place attractive for upscale clientelle...kind of "the place to be". That's where the big money would be. I wouldn't want the reputation of trying to squeeze people. I think that would be pretty short sighted.

As a Bengal fan, I do hold Marvin slightly responsible, but I mostly blame their inept owner Mike Brown, who for years has pinched pennies by having the smallest scouting department in the NFL.

The Bengals need a bonafide GM, and more scouts. However, as long as Mike Brown is holding the reins, it'll likely never happen.

The Bengals haven't had any legal issues in quite some time outside of some weed issues that are quite typical with today's African-American players. Chris Henry was the biggest problem. They gave him a shot. He blew it. They cut him. To say that the Bengals have big character issues in the legal department at this point is overblown. Their mishaps have been greatly surpassed by several teams in the league; JAX and Pitt come to mind. I do agree that Marvin is uncapable. However, ownership is the real culprit. When you look at the perennial underachievers in the league,(Cincy & Detroit) the same families have been in control. The problems stem from their decisions.

The underlying problem with the Bengals....We have no GM and on top of that (unlike Jerry Jones...the other owner without a GM), we are cheap, run terribly and have 0 playoff wins in the last 17 years. We have made the playoffs one time in the last 17 years. Despite the poor record, Mike Brown refuses to make changes. We still have the smallest scouting department in the NFL and we consistently miss on draft day. Take a look at the 2004 NFL Draft (Round 1: David Pollack; Round 2 - Odell Thurman; Round 3 - Chris Henry; Round 4 - Frostee Rucker; Round 5 - A.J. Nicholson). That's one draft that we have gotten NOTHING out of. Oh yeah, Chris Perry didn't work out either the year before.

Nationally, I think you hear snippets of Mike Brown's poor management from time to time. But he is right up there with Matt Millen and Isiah Thomas. The problem is that Thomas and Millen may potentially get fired. Brown owns the team and refuses to hire a General Manager despite 17 years of NO SUCCESS.

Somebody help. There is nothing the fans can do but watch the trainwreck continue. It has to be one of the most frustrating situations in sports.

The Cincinnati Bengals organization needs a Dolphins-esque overhaul. While the Miami Dolphins overhaul was due to performance the Cincinnati Bengals has both performance and character issues. At least they don't need to get a new Quarterback but at the very least they need to replace the head coach as well as their player evaluation department along a large # of players in their team.

The NFL should consider punishing the Bengals franchise by either stripping draft picks or making them start Trent Dilfer every game.

Anyone here ever been to a game in Cincy?

They literally had one port-o-let for about 5,000-6,000 tailgaters. And you tailgate under the interstate overpasses.

The only thing more disgusting than that, are the players in their locker room.

They need to lose the stripes on their helmets and just wear orange.

PFT comment....

"That said, we’re troubled by the appearance that the folks at “BANG” apparently tried to squeeze some money out of Henry and company by holding over their heads the possibility of filing charges. It’s not much different than what those guys in Little Rock tried to pull several weeks ago with Darren McFadden. The far better approach for the victim of an alleged crime is to get the cops involved before trying to squeeze any money out of the alleged perps."

I’m not a Benga’ls fan, a Bang fan, or night club operator....but....

Seems to me that the Bang gave the Bengal’s players a break here? They did get the police involved...the police came and escorted the Bengals out of the Bang...and then the Bang basically says that if the Bengals pay the damages we won't file charges. The Bang was more than fair. They could have filed charges then and there and then this incident would have been all over the news wire at that time. How can you criticize the Bang for this?

The Bengals have seriously got to start drafting and signing just high quality character guys, these incidences are starting to just get embarrassing. They found talented turds, now they have to show their talented turds to the curb or else they look like crap.

Great management Cincy.

What's the deal with the Bengals. Geeze. One or two instances here or there over the course of few years, but we're talking about a problem every week. From Ocho Stinko to Chris Henry to Odell Thurman. At some point, you've got to start pointing the finger at Marvin Lewis.

Apparently there's a dire need for some form of team-sponsored entertainment in Cincy. For all of these Bengals to get into trouble tells me that the city is seriously boring! How is it that these wealthy, young professional athletes cannot score lots-O-women without frequenting strip clubs and nightclubs? Joe Willy needs to conduct some classes in Bengaltown.
