Citing an unnamed team source, Bob Brookover of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported recently that the Philadelphia Eagles already have received sufficiently solid offers to justify a trade of cornerback Lito Sheppard.
The magnitude of those offers remains to be seen.
One league source told Brookover that the Eagles have asked at least one team for a first-round pick. A team source indicated that the floor for a trade would be a second-round pick and a fifth-round pick.
Recently, the Atlanta Falcons obtained a second-round pick in 2008 and a fifth-round pick in 2009 for cornerback DeAngelo Hall.
The Eagles are virtually certain to trade Sheppard, given that they acquired Asante Samuel on the first day of free agency.

Atlanta makes sense. Mike Smith has coached several Gators and they all seem to like to be closer to Gainesville for some reason. Hopefully not for all the sausage parties.

I would love for the Packers to send one of their 2nd round picks, and a reciver like James Jones or Ruvell Martin to the Eagles for Sheppard. Move Woodson to safety with Bigby next to him and have Al Harris and Lito on the outside.

I’d rather not trade him for a pick, regardless of how high, picks are never a certainty

this is crazy to trade sheppard, we need a return guy and sheppard has done it at uf and with the eagles so why not keep him as a return guy and back up corner. picks hardly pan out on unproven players.

Seriously - the Eagles need to keep Shepard, to have a defense with two shut down corners is elite in this league. The Eagles are never going to have a true #1 WR, the universe would probably blow up, or hell would freeze over or something. I am an eagles fan through and through, but they have managed in the past without an elite #1, and when they had one… well, we all saw the 6 second abs workout and the rest is history!
KEEP SHEPARD!!! I BEG YOU!!!

i dont get it. why are we trading when we have a need for a return guy and lito can do that alot better than what we have now. he did at UF, he did it with us and hell we can always use another corner. draft picks suck getting some unproven player for one that is. no way, body for a body if we trade.

I Think The Bucs Should Jump In For Him. Bucs Should Give The Eagles A 2nd And 5th Round Draft Picks For Lito. And Then Also Trade Their 3rd And 7th Round Draft Picks For PacMan. The Bucs Need Corner Help. And These Two Trades Would Set Them Up At Corner For Years To Come. Draft A Good Good Reciever(Sweed From Texas) And They’ll Be Set To Be The First Team To Ever Play A Super Bowl In Their Own Stadium. GO BUCS!

OC I could not agree more! Let’s hold him rather than fold’em for a pick! NOw, a trade for a Green Bay reciever, say Robinson or perhaps (wishful thinking) JEnnings! Now that would be sweet. Even if we gave up some picks, it would be worth it for a tested reciever!

There is no way they would sign Asante Samuel to that deal if they were planning on keeping Sheppard long term.

Don’t be surprised if nothing goes down & Lito stays with the team.
They currently have 11 picks; any extra picks this year would be wasted. I could see packaging Lito/draft picks for Atlanta’s 1st round pick or any of the teams in the top 8 of this years draft who are in rebuilding mode [Miami, Rams, Chiefs] and need all the players they can get their hands on.
I think a deal for Boldin is still a possibility considering all the holes Phoenix has on that team; Lito and two number 6’s I think would be fair.
Green Bay fans … GET REAL!! a 2nd rounder & James Jones. I hope some KY Jelly is included in that deal. Unless Andy’s been dipping into Britt’s pill box I don’t see this happening at all.

so again why not keep him in the return game, cause that is so great. we are not getting boldin no way. we dont need another reciever, we need a return guy or a goal line , 3 & 1 back. we suck in the red zone. so if we do trade him which i know we will, we need something in return other than more draft picks.
