A league source tells us that two of the Arizona Cardinals’ starting defensive linemen will be boycotting the team’s offseason workouts.
Per the source, defensive tackle Darnell Dockett is staying away because he wants a new contract. Defensive end Antonio Smith won’t participate because he wants to be traded.
However, the source says that the Cardinals will grant neither man his wish.
Dockett has started every game but one of his four-year career. Smith started 13 games in 2007.

What ever happened to people honoring their contracts. These two made big boy decisions when they signed their existing contracts. They are the ones that agreed to the contracts, and they wouldn’t have to worry about their situation if they hadn’t signed the contracts, right? What is the problem? I hope the Card’s stay tough with these clowns.

Wow…only in Arizona will an 8-8 record cause players to want new deals. In normal NFL cities, it’s called a Super Bowl, or deep playoff run that usually brings this pattern.

When will it end with these players? As if making over 7 digits isn’t living anymore.

Yeah, it sure is a good thing those NFL contracts are guaranteed, so teams can never renege on their end of the deal. Oh, wait…
