A day that features plenty of brown-colored food (and then, later, the creation of plenty of brown-colored, um, stuff) might feature a brown-colored team playing football in prime time.
Per Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Cleveland Browns might be picked to participate in the NFL Network game played on Thanksgiving night.
The Browns last played on Thanksgiving in 1989, against the Detroit Lions. The Browns also faced the Cowboys in 1966 and the Cowboys in 1982. The Browns lost each of those games.
Possible opponents include the Bengals, Ravens, Steelers, Texans, Colts, Giants, Broncos, Jaguars, Titans, Eagles, Redskins, and Bills.
The NFL added a night game to the Thanksgiving package in 2006, with the Broncos visiting the Chiefs. Last year, the Colts traveled to Atlanta.

Maybe the NFL and time Warner can agree about the NFL network so many of us in Cleveland would be able to see the game.

I saw April 3 on an NFL Network schedule. Then I heard sometime between April 8-10. It should have been hammered out over the weekend during the owner’s meeting. It’s usually sometime in early/mid April, so it won’t be much longer now.

If the Browns game is anything like last December’s Snowglobe game against the Bills, I might just die of happiness on Thanksgiving night.

Is anyone else sick of seeing the Lions stink it up every year on Thanksgiving? I know….TRADITION but most of the games on Thanksgiving suck. Why not rotate teams and give us better matchups?

Hopefully its the Eagles and Browns. That would be a great matchup, plus the birds never get to play on thanksgiving.

If the Browns are playing on NFLN, the game will also be broadcast on local free TV in Cleveland.

Browns/Bengals, Browns/Steelers, on Turkey Day? Hmm… nah, can’t see it happening. Would end up with a lot of ticked-off wives and abandoned leftovers in Cleveburg. Although the following Friday would make a great ‘hangover’ day.
