The ankle of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was injured during the AFC title game. And while he wasn’t identified on the injury report as having trouble with the ankle, Brady seemed to be out of sorts during the Super Bowl.
But now the ankle is fully healed, according to John Tomase of the Boston Herald. Brady won’t be limited during offseason workouts.
It makes plenty of sense; a sprained ankle usually heals after 4-6 weeks of rest. It’s been nearly two months since the Super Bowl, so Brady should be fine.

His off-season workout program with Gisele doesn’t put much strain on his ankle. Is this really even a story? It takes an ankle 4-6 weeks to heal and his ankle is healed. Mind blowing.

Maybe they should be more worried about that shoulder that’s been hurting for the last 2 years.

After all the money I lost on New England in the Superbowl, I’m never believing one of those Pats injury reports again.

eazye, either you have no familiarity with the Patriots and injury reports or my sarcasm detector is broke because the team’s injury reports haven’t been believable in quite some time. In hindsight I think it’s obvious that the ankle was a much bigger problem than Brady or the team led the public to believe and came at the worst possible time against the league’s top pass rush. When Brady was injured in the 2001 AFC championship he was listed as probable before the Superbowl but appeared to be at 100% during the game. This time around it appears they did the opposite and I can’t say I blame them. Maybe they were hoping that if the Giants believed Brady to be fully healed they wouldn’t come at him with reckless abandon every single down. Acknowledging Brady’s injury hurts the Patriots and I think spygate has shown that Belichick is willing to take any penalties that would come from fudging the injury report if it helps his team win.

They lost the game on defense, and besides after the week 17 match, I wasn’t convinced the Pats would cover much less win the game

This is a miracle! Brady has finally recovered from an injury the injury reports said he never had. He’s still rehabbing his cleft chin.

The New England defense played horribly at the beginning and at the end of the Super Bowl game. That made all the difference.
The Giants, of all teams, had the ball for nearly the first 10 minutes of the game. That set the tone, and New York’s defense took it from there. You have to give the Giants full credit for rising to the occasion. Then again, they lost the regular-season finale to the Pats by just three points, so their performance in the Super Bowl shouldn’t have come as a complete surprise.
