A Seahawks fan in Port Orchard, Washington has been accused of spitting on the hamburger of a Steelers fan.
We’re not positive as to the proper spelling of this, but we think it’s: “Bwahahahahaha.”
The customer in question was wearing his Steelers gear, and he had gotten into an argument with an employee at the unnamed fast-food joint about Super Bowl XL. So when the Steelers fan got his burger, he concluded that someone had spit on it.
Or, alternatively, that it had gotten a lecture in close quarters from former Steelers coach Bill Cowher. (Hat tip to the reader who made the Cowher comparison when sending us the link.)
Look, we don’t condone the defacement of foodstuffs. But the “victim” violated the First Commandment of eating at a place where a stranger will be preparing and/or handling your food: “Thou shalt not be an asshole.”
The Steelers fan was asking for it, and he got it. Strike one was wearing Steelers gear to a restaurant in Seahawks country. Strike two was getting into an argument with one of the employees at the restaurant. And strike three for all Steelers fans who might wear Steelers gear to restaurants in places other than Pittsburgh was the guy making a big deal about it, because now the folks who work at other fast-food restaurants will be looking to spit on the food of other guys wearing their black and gold.
If, you know, they weren’t already doing so.

My favorite team is the Packers and I could care less about the Seattle Shehawks or the Pittsburgh She-lers.
I am always excited for the Super Bowl. It’s my favorite day of the year.
However, I felt raped by the NFL on Feb 4, 2006. All I wanted to do was watch a good game with a house full of friends.
Instead, all I got was a joke of a game where the Seahawks were only allowed their 11 players and the Steelers got their 11 in addition to the guys in stripes. It never crossed my mind that football was fixed until I watched that game. Since that game I don’t view the NFL the same although I still watch/enjoy it.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved when my team kicked the crap out of the Hawks this past play-off season… but it’s just wrong what happened to them in Feb of ‘06.
I know Stevens shouldn’t have had butterfingers, they should have been ready for a trick play, they should have stopped Willie Parker… but it makes it tough when the guys in stripes make sure they are also against you…
And to the stupid comment from the Steeler fan who said they kicked Seattle’s butt earlier this past season in Pittsburgh… how in the heck does that mean that they deserved to win a game 2 years earlier?

Of course he was being an asshole. Just by being a Pissburgh fan automatically makes you an asshole. Everyone knows that.

So if the logic is if you got robbed or cheated its ok to spit in food mike ?
Does that mean that Bostoners should avoid the chowder ???? I mean we got screwed out of another 2 superbowl appearences . I know we would have beat the hell out of the eagles in 04 . However the 2001 season the rams was a good team so if we even split that gives us now 6 championships ????????????????? Why does everyone hate on the steeler fans ? Cause we love our team and travel to see them ? WE DONT CLAIM TO BE AMERICAS TEAM LIKE SOME OTHER CITY DOES .

To the Steeler fan who says the NFL supervisor of officials said they got it right:
Of course they said they got it right. The same way they destroyed the Spygate tapes. The sole purpose of these higher up positions is to prevent black eyes for the NFL, and that game was so atrocious, it gave every sports league in the world a black eye. Nobody is jealous of the Steelers (except maybe half of the nations prison inmates wondering why they are in jail for doing far pettier crimes than half of the Steeler active roster), we’re just sick of hearing Pittsburgh fans blindly defend the officiating in that game when it is painfully clear what really happened.

Look jabroni’s, if you are a loudmouth asshole fan in enemy territory and you expect your food not to be spit in then you are an idiot as well. Everyone knows not to screw with the people who serve your food. I just hope he put some pglegm in that burger.

I didn’t have a dog in the fight while watching XL (mostly since I didn’t watch the game with Mick Vick), but that game made me a far more cynical NFL fan, and I don’t think I’ll ever be as passionate about the league again. That being said, I’ve been on both sides of food service, and I’ve seen some sickening sh*t done to people’s food who rubbed the cook the wrong way. That doesn’t make it right, but if you think you’ve never had the really special sauce at some food joint, don’t kid yourself.
My aged memory of that day goes something like this:
1. Offensive pass interference in the endzone. I think to myself “crap call, but it’ll even out by the end”.
2. A bunch of ticky-tack crap that put the kernel in my mind that it wasn’t gonna even out at all - Toothless’s phantom TD, etc.
3. Grant Windstrom acting like he was getting out of bed in the morning getting back up when he went to the turf chasing Toothlessburger who then threw an amazing cross the field pass off his back foot.
4. Loaf of Tapoopoo getting hammered by a pulling guard on the 70 yard touchdown run which made me question drafting a undersized middle linebacker in the second round no matter what his football IQ is without a young gynormous injury free Nose who eats blockers for lunch (along with 15 head of cattle).
5. The backup of the backup safety getting frozen on a trick play he should have seen coming from midfield – probably because he was worried about Loaf getting body slammed again.
And then the coup de grace, courtesy of Levy and company, for all of whom SB XL should have been their last day of NFL employment.
6. Armlocklear gets a holding call while not holding the DE who was clearly offsides at the snap of the ball, calling back 1st and goal from the 2 or closer.
7. The penalty created a third and long where Hasslebald tried to force a pass that got picked off. Adding insult to actual injury, Hasslebald got called for a low block while tackling the interceptor and coming up a bit gimp for the effort.
There is plenty of great football history for Steeler fans to be proud of, but this is not part of that. I think the Steelers were robbed in a way by Levy as well as the ‘Hawks due to the fact that “the thumb” is always going to carry an asterisk on it. While I think with better officiating the Seahawks would have won, I don’t count out the Steelers. The 2005-2006 team had a tenacity and resilience I’ve rarely seen. It’s too bad they won thanks to the benevolence of the refs and not their own play.

Doesn’t the rest of the league know that steelers fans think that their jersey’s are formal / everyday attire.
A look into a steeler’s fans mind:
- Going to a wedding, wear my jersey
- Going to a funeral, wear my jersey
- Can’t wear my jersey to work, decorate my cube with excessive Steeler gear
- job Interview, wear my jersey
- going out on Friday night to pick up girls, wear my jersey
I wish steeler fans would be like all other fans, and just wear their jersey on game days. They certainly look like fools on wednesday night wearing their steeler gear at a nice restuarant.
Even though its gross and I don’t condone spitting in someone’s food, I am sure the The Steeler fan provoked it.
