A Seahawks fan in Port Orchard, Washington has been accused of spitting on the hamburger of a Steelers fan.
We’re not positive as to the proper spelling of this, but we think it’s: “Bwahahahahaha.”
The customer in question was wearing his Steelers gear, and he had gotten into an argument with an employee at the unnamed fast-food joint about Super Bowl XL. So when the Steelers fan got his burger, he concluded that someone had spit on it.
Or, alternatively, that it had gotten a lecture in close quarters from former Steelers coach Bill Cowher. (Hat tip to the reader who made the Cowher comparison when sending us the link.)
Look, we don’t condone the defacement of foodstuffs. But the “victim” violated the First Commandment of eating at a place where a stranger will be preparing and/or handling your food: “Thou shalt not be an asshole.”
The Steelers fan was asking for it, and he got it. Strike one was wearing Steelers gear to a restaurant in Seahawks country. Strike two was getting into an argument with one of the employees at the restaurant. And strike three for all Steelers fans who might wear Steelers gear to restaurants in places other than Pittsburgh was the guy making a big deal about it, because now the folks who work at other fast-food restaurants will be looking to spit on the food of other guys wearing their black and gold.
If, you know, they weren’t already doing so.

I always love hearing how Seahawk fans complain about getting screwed in the Superbowl. Did the ref’s blow a call when Willie Parker ran untouched for 70+ yards? Did they blow a call when Ben Roethlisberger scrambled around on 3rd and long and completed a deep pass to Hines Ward? O.K. I will give you that the tripping call on Hasselbeck was B.S. Seriously, if you want to win the Superbowl, play some damn defense. That being said, nobody deserves to have spit in their food.

Perhaps the ‘Hawks should get a coach that understands clock management.
Bad call Florio……what that guy did was just plain nasty.

Typical Responses from both fan bases, Seahawk fans yes, spitting on you or your food, this is what they do, this is who they are. Combined with Steeler fans and their incredible self righteousness. Florio made a joke, see the movie “Waiting”. Try to develop a sense of humor if possible.
BTW it was not spit, the ‘Hawk fan just slipped on a McDonald’s bag.

Hilarious. One thing puzzles me though: I thought you needed teeth to enjoy a hamburger?

I hate to say this, but a lot of people who eat fast food have had their food spit on at some point (or boogies wiped on it, had the crotch rub, or other things even more disgusting). Not because the cooks think you’re an a-hole or don’t like your shirt. A lot of people working there are LOSERS and think it’s funny and are generally PO’d at life and just want to get back at anyone.
Enjoy your next meal!

Any idiot knows you don’t mess with people who make your food. It is a scientific fact. If this Steeler fan was stupid enough to egg his food preparers on, then he did deserve it. Especially with Super Bowl XL being XL only in the payoff department. I am not a Seahawk fan and I think the part you all are missing is this:
So when the Steelers fan got his burger, he concluded that someone had spit on it.
Does it say it actually happened? No. He concluded, or ‘assumed.’

Wow. Your attitude about the appropriateness of spitting in food is pretty telling. Maybe we should start calling you Pumkin. Of course, it does fit nicely with all of the trash that is seeping out of Morgantown lately.

Man - I’m a Cowboys fan and HATE the Steelers. But no way would I spit in an Steeler’s fan’s food - and I was working at McDonalds as a part time job in college (no reflection of my major) when the SB XIII refereeing fiasco happened. No excuse for it.

That is awful behavior. People should be able to wear their favorite team jersy any where without being harassed like that. That’s terrible and no one should ever be treated like that.
Unless it’s a Cowboys fan.

Hey, could be worse, instead of talking trash to a zit faced burger jockey, said Steeler fan could have just smacked his girlfriend around. That seems to be more typical behavior in Steeler nation.
P.S. Did they say if Steeler fan was also wearing face paint? It is almost April, gotta get ready for kick-off.

Geez, I can’t even believe anyone can justify this sorta thing.
It’s a game folks. I love football, I jones for football in the offseason. I read this site everyday. I post on message boards all over the place. I try to get every bit of football related news….
It’s a game. There is _never_ any kind of justification for acts of violence/hooliganism/douche-baggery/fluid discharging. This is every bit as bad someone throwing a beer at opposing fans, or drunk morons throwing down like Greasers and Soshes in the parking lot…
If you get that worked up over a game that was played 3 years ago, then maybe watching sports isn’t for you.
Freaking chill out. It’s possible to love your team and not be a d–k to folks in different colors.

I somewhat agree with the above post, but when you rub in the fact you won a game that was complete BS to fans who are very passionate about their team and that game then expect soemthing to happen. the previous 4 superbowls they won were ligit but that was a joke so dont be trash talkin a hawks fan about that. the whole world knows whos team bill levy was on that day.

Typical comments of the rest of the NFL fans. They are JEALOUS of the Steelers success. Steelers fans are everywhere! Deal with it.(By the way, the NFL supervisor of officials after the Super Bowl stated all of the calls were correct.)
