nice signing. continues a solid offseason for them. in this day and age, fa is as much about as providing options moreso than studs.

they entered this offseason with a lot of needs. they kept damione lewis, giving them an option inside without having their hand forced. they added a tyler brayton on the outside to give them depth at end. Landon Johnson's production might not be all that different from Lance Briggs, and he comes at a much better price. They signed Chris Harris long term. They added a big RB complement. They picked up some WR options. They had big OL concerns this offseason, ranging from needing size inside and both tackles as free agents. Certainly, Wharton at guard isn't desirable, but sitting at 13th, the chances of getting a top left tackle was debatable, and adding a solid player like Milford gives them options.

It's all about options, and they've provided themselves with it. Instead of dealing up for an OT, as many had suspected, they could perhaps try to move up for, say Sedrick Ellis now and look for an OT in round 2. Or they can move up for an OT, say Clady, and give them good depth on the OL and allow them to make a play for a DT in the 2nd.
