The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced that defensive end Nick Eason has re-signed with the team.
The unrestricted free agent, who signed with the Steelers in 2007, has inked a two-year deal.
Eason entered the league with the Broncos in 2003, and spent three seasons with the Browns. He has four careers starts, and has appeared in 46 career regular-season games.

Why would they do this? This guy has proven to be an incapable DE in their system.
Thumbs down.

so this guy comes in as a free agent from the browns. aaron smith goes down and he gets the start and the rush defense blew. then it was announced kirschke would start over eason…the defense was never the same after aaron smith went down, but it was a better with kirschke in there. then after the season ends, tomlin says they need to get younger and better in the trenches. i guess the younger includes re-signing a 34 yr old kirschke and the better includes keeping a guy in eason who had to be replaced for poor play. unless these are real low contracts meant to provide camp competition, im pretty worried. i might be the only one expecting slightly better things from ryan “steely” mcbean, but he’s in his second year after coming here as a 4th round pick. that year should have allowed him to gain some bulk, strength, and the defense. i hope he can come in and give us a reason to cut eason and/or kirschke. also this position should be addressed with either the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round picks. not all, but at least 1 should be a d lineman.
he already proved in the year he spent here he’s not the guy to step in and play up to a respectable level when need be. he came over from the browns and was in a 3-4 there, so it’s not like he totally had to learn a new position and system, so are any other steeler fans worried or not exactly pumped about getting this guy back?
