Good gosh, why should the Cowboys take two DBs in the first? They'll be fairly loaded and really flexible is they sign Pacman. You could start Pac and Newman and have Henry play SS or FS next to Hamlin, who can play either position. Maybe you dump Ayodele and convert Roy Williams into a linebacker. And maybe you still get a DB and a Felix Jones with those picks?

Both first rounders and a 2nd (call it 15th pick in the second round for argument's sake) = 1870 points. 4th overall is only worth 1800. No way that trade scenario happens. Not with Barber included.

Why don't the 'Boys just wait for Tennessee to cut Pacman instead of trading for him? I mean, if there's no market out there for him, why give up anything for him?

Sadly, I think I may know the answer. If Mr Jones wants Pacman, that means he won't be drafting two DBs in the first round like he should. If he trades for Pacman it will be a clear sign to me that he will also trade both first rounders, Marion "the Barbarian" Barber III, and possibly next year's 2nd rounder to Oakland so they can draft McFadden.

That kills me because the team had a shot of winning it all last year and instead of moving forward by adding some secondary help it looks like Mr Jones is gonna roll the dice. Here's hoping McFadden is the next coming of a healthy Adrian Peterson *takes shot of Don Julio 1942*

If Dallas can keep him in line, then he'll turn out to be a steal no matter what pick they give Tennessee. However, the guy was/is/and will forever be a douche.

I get the feeling that Jones is either pressuring Goodell to reinstate him, or Jones has been told by Goodell that he will be.

Oh, he's gonna get reinstated if he gets traded to the Cowboys. You can bet on that. Probably before the draft, too. He said on Irvin's show that he doesn't go anywhere without having an off-duty cop with him these days. Besides, hanging out in Dallas with the Pleamaker and whoever, I figure he won't have to go out and find some skanks, the skanks will come to him. Strippers are much more fun at home than at the bar anyway, I'm (almost) sad to confess.

He isn't necessarily worth more than a 7th on talent alone because there's no guarantee he will EVER see the playing field, or that he can stay on it if he returns.

A 7th and a player (I figure it's probably Bobby Carpenter) is a better deal for the Cowboys than a 3rd.

It always amazes me how some of these guys in charge play the market so terribly. No one else even wants this guy, and its obvious he can't stay in Tennessee. Why would you INCREASE your offer? It should be the other way around. As a Cowboys fan, I hope this deal never goes through. I can't root for a guy who caused a man to become paralyzed and basically not care

Pac's a pain in the a$$, and has major issues, but he's worth more than a 7th rounder based on talent. That being said the Titans need to do whatever it takes to get his salary off the books and move on.
I heard Vandenbosch on NFL Radio the other day and he said the team is basically done with Jones, which means his value probably goes down, but at least there seems to be a consensus about not having him on the team any longer than necessary. Still we need to get something for him if possible.

Jerry Jones may be an egotistical jerk, but he's incredibly shrewd when it comes to his football club. I still don't see this trade going off unless the Titans reconsider their position on including Young Spoaty in the deal.

I don't get this post - offering MORE for a guy who is still not even eligible to play, and a guy that no one else seems to want makes sense to anyone?

And from being almost unemployable only a year ago, we are now talking about signing this guy for a long-term deal so no one else grabs him...

It looks like a slow offseason in the NFL has so insanely hyped Pacman, and that the Cowboys are buying into every bit of the hype while totally ignoring his flaws.

So maybe The Cowboys have "sweetened the pot" for a player that is still suspended from the NFL.

If this is the case, can everyone remove Dallas as a possible trade partner to move up in the draft for Darren McFadden? Or is Dallas going to throw April away for a one shot get it done deal?

sweetened the pot? Who are they bidding against?! They shouldn't give up anything more than conditional pick in 2009. It's not like the Titans will hold onto him if the Boys don't cave to their demands. I'd offer only a 7th round pick if he commits another violent crime in 2008, a 6th round pick if he is only charged with drugs in 2008 etc..
