At a time when Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth is trying to get a long-term deal from the team, Haynesworth’s financial needs have just increased.

Per the Tennessean, Haynesworth’s wife has filed for divorce, citing inappropriate marital conduct and irreconcilable differences.

She wants custody of their two children plus custody of Haynesworth’s oldest son, for whom she has cared since 2004.

“This is a really difficult time for our family, we hope that you will respect our privacy as we work through this difficult time and keep us in your prayers,” Haynesworth told the Tennessean in an e-mail through his agent, Chad Speck.

Though none of this should affect his marketability, it makes us wonder whether the failure of the relationship has resulted in whole or in part from anger-management issues that Haynesworth has managed to keep under wraps on the football field since he treated the forehead of Andre Gurode like a block of Gouda.
