As the St. Louis Rams ponder their options with the team’s highest pick in the NFL draft since left tackle Orlando Pace was the No. 1 overall selection in 1997, the franchise seems to be focused on bringing to town another big, strong, and/or fat guy.
Per the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams have arranged pre-draft visits with defensive end Chris Long, offensive tackle Jake Long, defensive end/linebacker Vernon Gholston, and defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey.
Any of the four players should immediately help a team that struggled in the trenches in 2007. And the Rams will have their pick of at least three of them.
But which one will the Rams choose? Despite all the bells and whistles of the pre-draft process, it’s still a blindfolded crapshoot. And we won’t know for a year or two whether in making their decision the Rams managed to affix the tail to the donkey’s ass.

this team is just a mess. in the good ole days when the patriots were video taping them before superbowls and what not, they had the greatest show on turf. with orlando pace a consensus all-pro, and kyle turd-ley steadily holding down the other tackle position, they had a temporarily great quarterback (kurt warner), an all pro RB (mr faulk, no not the pot-smoking one in new england, nfl network’s own MARSHALL faulk) and two incredible receivers in isaac bruce in his prime and torry holt as an up and comer.
This offense was truly scary, but since then, they let kurt warner go because he was concussed more than the pittsburgh steelers girlfriends, pace is consistenly on IR, turd-ley almost went postal on the team, marshall retired and is actually showing there can be a great former RB-turned analyst not named emmitt smiff. (although they’ve found a pretty good RB in steven jackson) they’ve lost isaac bruce to age and cut him, torry holt is still consistent but only getting older. There defense has always been a mess but was at least somewhat decent back then. there’s no way this teams gettin better anytime soon…

Why don’t they just sign some guy from the areana league with a wife that looks like a dude. Last time that happened the won the big one, I think that’s the key to success.

How low have the standards of broadcasters fallen that Emmitt Smith has a job, and someone out there considers Marshall Faulk a great broadcaster.
Those two make Florio look like Cronkite when he gets the occasional bone thrown to him by NFLN

brick, if you’re referring to me calling faulk a great broadcaster, iIdid not. I called him a great former RB turned analyst. all i admitted is that he is way better than emmitt smiff at broadcasting, but not that he’s great at it. then again my 4 yr old niece is a better broadcaster than emmitt smiff, although their understanding of the english langauge is about on the same level.
