As the Titans try to scare up maximum salvage value for the No. 6 overall pick in the 2005 draft and as the agent for the guy taken with that pick, Pacman Jones, tries to dupe the only team interested in Jones into thinking that there actually are other teams who desire his services, one of the teams has made it publicly known that there will be no pursuit of Pacman Jones.
Specifically, Lions CEO Matt Millen has declared that the team isn’t interested in acquiring Jones.
“We’ve talked about it, but for a lot of reasons, we aren’t going to try to get him,” Millen told the Detroit News. “He has a lot of talent. We wish him well.”
Other teams supposedly interested in Jones (as has been reported and as we’ve heard) are the Patriots, Redskins, and Bucs.
Though the Pats haven’t made their intentions known, publicly or otherwise, we’ve heard that the Redskins and the Bucs aren’t biting.
And if the Cowboys are bidding only against themselves for Jones’ services, it won’t be the first time. Two years ago, the Cowboys gave receiver Terrell Owens a three-year, $25 million contract at a time when no one else was willing to even enter that ballpark, if sign him at all.

Thank god Tampa isn’t biting. As a Bucs fan, I wouldn’t want Pacman coming here. He has too much baggage. Plus Tampa is known for their strip clubs. Pacman + Strip Clubs= Something Bad Waiting to Happen. No Thanks.

Pacman needs to cut his hair, change his name, get married, embrace religion and live a clean and simple life if he and his agent want to attract the type of big-dollar offer that gets offered to the elite players in the NFL. Should he continue to cluelessly lead the clown’s life that we have seen so far, his only suitor in the future will be the circus.

The last thing Detroit needs is someone to come in and ruin there reputation. Seriously, They would be lucky to land a talent like Pac Man. But thats not going to happen, Millen is too busy scouting wide receivers in the draft. (Rebuilding since 1957)

Whats really strange is that you don’t hear Al Davis as of YET wanting Pacman. It would just follow with all his other moves to offer a 3rd or 4th round pick with 10- 15 million guaranteed. Then we can watch all the Raider fans justify somehow what a genius Al Davis is.

Why would the Lions want Pacman anyways. I can see how it might entertain the players, but it is not that good of a game. If they are going to get a game, why not buy Halo or Call of Duty. THose games are much better than Pacman. I bet that is what the Lions are leaning towards.

I dont blame the Lions at all. Pacman was good in the 80’s, but now that game is way outdated. If I had to guess, I would guess that the Lions were leaning towards Halo or Call of Duty, both of which are better games than Pacman. If the Lions did buy Pacman instead of those games, they would probably be teh cheapest franchise in sports.
