The league has launched a new contest that will give one fan the ability to call out a pick from the stage of the NFL draft.
The winner of the NFL Dream Draft Sweepstakes also will receive hotel and airfare to New York City, plus VIP access to the draft.
The details are right here.

Oh, wait, I’m a Browns fan. What’s a draft?

They need to rig this so a Jets fan gets to call out a pick. I don’t think I need to explain why.

Its all a great idea until half-drunk Raiders fan takes the stage and makes his opinion known.

Why is the NFL doing this? They certainly don’t need to garner additional attention for the draft as it has replaced the Miss America contest as the U.S.A’s favorite beauty pageant.

I would possibly wet myself on television if I got to call out a pick on the stage for the draft.
And it would be worth it.

“Hi, my name is Sheldon Rankwormer and I’m absolutely thrilled to be announcing the #1 overall pick of the 2008 NFL draft. And my pick - to go to the Miami Dolphins - is my brother-in-law Jimmy Kornblatt. Jimmy hasn’t played much football since high school - actually, he hasn’t played any - but for a 42-year-old unemployed diabetic, he’s in relatively good shape. Thanks to the NFL for making my dream - and Jimmy’s - come true.”
