Romo was surrounded by the talent of a consensus top-2-NFC team and couldn't close the deal. Not only that, but since the 1995 season when Jacksonville was an expansion team and when Dallas won the Super Bowl... Dallas hasn't won a playoff game. In that span, Jacksonville has made the AFC title game twice and won 5 playoff games. Including one buy their franchise QB. Which is one more than Dallas's "franchise" QB has won. Romo's contract was a lot higher than what many felt he should have gotten being an unproven QB. Garrard deserves to get paid like a top 10 QB. He hasn't had a WR ranked in the top 50 and still managed to win a playoff game (which Romo has not). Pay him so the team can move on to the larger issue of finding an every down DE. But if I had to choose a guy to lead my team in the final 2-minutes, I'd opt for Romo every time. Garrard should get paid - not sure what his base is for '08 but likely it is much lower than it ought be - but I personally don't think that Garrard should be in that ballpark...yet.
