But how would the Vikings organization benefit from bringing him in.. What does he bring to the table that justify signing him? He's old, not used to the west coast offence, and he was never that good anyways. If we wanted fossils hanging around the locker room we would never have let holcomb leave. If you are looking for experience in mentoring bring in Trent Green as a Backup.. He was an alright QB between concussions. And if you want someone to compete for a starting possition trade buffalo for Losman or Texas for Rosenfels... Frerotte really in my mind does not have a place on the Vikings Maybe third string at best.. Even then that is a spot for developing young QB's Oh and frerotte has too small of hands. Given his shoulder injury, he'll probably have to stay in the WC system the rest of his career; he might not have the arm strength otherwise.
