I know alot of people like McFadden but watching him a little this past season, I feel he's more likely to struggle like Reggie Bush than blow up like Adrian Peterson. Considering how much the Jets O-line has improved through free agency alone, Thomas Jones should do quite well, just like he did when Chicago's line was strong 2-3 season's ago.

I don't understand this fascination with the Raiders taking McFadden. I hear all sorts of sources mention it but none fail to acknowledge the first round RB they acquired last year in the FOURTH round. Michael Bush is the perfect change of pace compliment to Fargas and co. this year and will transition into a great RB for this team for many years.

Zero chance they take McFadden.

Thomas Jones is good, but if Darren McFadden's there, take him! (If the JETS are indeed interested in him, it is dumb that they showed their cards because another team can trade with a team like the Raiders.) Comparable to the Jones situation, it's apparent that Justin Fargas is good (perhaps very good, we'll see) ... but if McFadden is there, take him. Or heck, trade the pick if you like Rhodes and Fargas. But that value is going to be there. Also, there is no way at 6 that the Jets would pass on McFadden. At the worst, he'll share with Jones before having the starting slot to himself.

We're entering the era where it's not abnormal to have a running back duo anyway. Did anyone learn from the mistake of passing on Adrian Peterson last year? Passing on McFadden would be like repeating the same mistake twice. Sure, you cannot help freaky injuries, but I mean, McFadden looks the best of the RB bunch, in a great class, by a lot. You honestly shouldn't pass on the man.

P.S. (Watch out for Rashard Mendenhall from da Illini.)

glad to see the jets doing their due diligence, I am somewhat concerned that they will be stuck looking at dorsey and/or ellis at six ... that's a worst case scenario for jets fans

this is the jets trying to get jerry jones attention. they would gladly go south for 2 picks in the 20's.

As much as I like Mcfadden, I would rather see us get LB/DE Gholston who would be a great fit in the 3/4, and maybe pickup Ray Rice in the second round if he's available. This Draft is deep in the RB's. This move will upgrade both ends of the field.

I have to agree with Dennis, a Cheerleader.

The bottom line is... The Jets OL wasn't that good and their offense suffered because of it. TJ performed well considering the circumstances and they have a nice compliment in Leon Washington. There is a reason they went out and signed the likes of Faneca, Woody, Richardson, and Franks. If those 4 don't scream run blocking I am not sure what does.

As for taking McFadden, I can see that IF he falls to pick six, but with them already lacking a third round pick and meeting all of their immediate needs in FA I can't see them trading up for him. They are much more likely to trade back, rather than up in this draft.

I have a hard time believing that Thomas Jones was that big of a disappointment with the Jets, unless people expected him to transform into Curtis Martin all of a sudden by putting a Jets uniform on.

Look at his stats:
http://www.nfl.com/players/thomasjones/profile?id=JON755755

310 carries for 1119 yards this year (1TD) instead of 296 carries for 1210 (6TDs) last year. Seems about the same, considering the whole team around him changed. Consider the drop in TDs solely because Mangenious always calls a fade to L. Coles in goal line situations, whereas the Bears would run, and I think you have it.

the Raiders won't draft Mcfadden. The last thing they want is Jamarcus Russell in the same backfield with a rookie running back who is not adept at picking up the blitz. They'll go with Rhodes and Fargas this year and draft the best defensive player available. It's another way for Al Davis to take a shot at Lane Kiffin. Use the draft picks on defense and favor Rob Ryan!
