After signing former Falcons starting tight end Alge Crumpler earlier this month, the Tennessee Titans have landed one of his backups.
The Titans have announced the acquisition of Dwayne Blakely, who spent four seasons with the Falcons and was an unrestricted free agent.
Blakely, who spent 2002 and 2003 on a smattering of practice squads, started nine games with the Falcons. He has 21 career receptions for 189 yards, and one touchdown.

Damn! With 21 career receptions for 189 yards, and one touchdown… Al Davis would have given him $25 mil. in guarantees.
Sucker.

All these tight ends are nice, but Vince needs some vertical weapons, plus we really need to address the defensive line

Blakely was in camp with the Titans a few years ago, and Jeff Fisher was very frank that he had outplayed Ben Troupe, but they weren’t going to give up on Troupe’s potential. Funny how that works out five years later.

If you can’t complete passes, does it matter if you have vertical weapons? (snicker) Vertical Weapons (snicker)
