With the contract to which new Steelers center Justin Hartwig agreed on Tuesday, agents Drew and Jason Rosenhaus have negotiated deals this year worth more than $440 million.
Though that number reflects the total value of every contract, including the phony back-end fluff that as to many long-term deals will never be paid, it’s a staggering sum — especially for what essentially is a two-man operation.
Surely, the Rosenhauses will continue to be controversial figures in NFL circles. Their ever-growing client list makes them an even bigger target for attack by other agents. But, actually, they seem to get their motivation and energy from the notoriety.
And like them or not, there’s no denying that they have been busting their butts.

$440 million in contracts in one off-season is a staggering sum. Drew Rosenhaus has, over the last ~5-6 years, generated a lot of negative press for himself, but I always thought he seemed like a really hard worker and a successful negotiator. Various news magazine profiles of the Rosenhauses I’ve watched have bouyed my positive opinion of them. If I was an elite athlete (instead of, say, a flabby 34 year-old spectator), Rosenhaus would be my first call.

Drew Rosenhaus could negotiate a billion dollars in contracts and a new CBA all by himself, but no matter what he does he still be the guy who sat next to TO and cried on national TV that “its not fair!”.

Rosenhaus’ perception of being a loud mouth jerk is only how the public views him based on the TO fiasco. However, I have heard current and former GMs say that they love to work with him. They call him the deal maker because of his ability to sit down and strike a deal that is favorable for both sides. His work ethic speaks for itself, but he seems to “get” what his business is about. And that’s getting deals done and not gouging so you can live off a deal here and there.

Sorry Dirty_Waters, Drew is known far more by the public for his epic “two word” press conference, “Next question”.
