As the saying goes, one man’s trash is another man’s stapler. Or something.
Anyway, the Carolina Panthers cut starting center Justin Hartwig last week. The Kansas City Chiefs, who are rebuilding an offensive line that has yet to recover from the retirements of Willie Roaf and Will Shields, might sign him.
Per Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star, the Chiefs expect to meet with Hartwig soon. Last year’s starter, Casey Wiegmann, is a free agent and won’t be re-signed.

Well, its not exactly like finding the discarded set to “The Merv Griffin Show”, but Hartwig is a decent dumpster discovery.

KC has to do something, why they didn’t get Faneca (considering his strength is run blocking and that Herm has a penchant for running his RB’s right into early retirement) is beyond me.

This sounds like a much more reasonable option than switching Brian Waters to center.

Eh, nevermind, Steelers just inked Hartwig to a 2-year deal.
