Bronco fans wish this doesn't happen cause they'd have to see the 2 best CB's twice a year. People don't know how good Nnamdi is. There is a stat out there of CB's that have given up the fewest passes over 20 yds. and he is at the top of it. 5 in 2 years. While we know Chump Bailey gets toasted by big WRs.

As a Falcon fan just seeing Turbomouth gone is a huge bonus.

And we could get a high 2nd round pick?...OK!

I'm loving Dimitroff so far and I'm thrilled we got him instead of the Tuna.

I find it HI-larious that Bronco fans are crying about the Raider salary cap figure, seeing as the Denver Broncos are the ONLY team ever penalized for winning the Super Bowl with a cap-violating roster.

Al: Yeah, I'm over the cap. Go ahead - take one of my mid-round draft picks. Ow. Oh, no. Like they count anyway! You have heard of Quentin Moses, right?

Oooh Salary Cap hell. Its so frightening.

When the Raiders were in the SuperBowl everyone was spazzing about how far over the cap they were, and how they were in an impossible situation. As it turned out, not so much. So you can spend you're time hiding under the bed if you want, but it seems like your projecting again.

You act like teams don't fall into salary hell just because they have people who "Know the Cap".

Well it happens... A lot, teams like Tennessee, Washington and Arizona have all been in bad situations in recent years, and it leads to the expunging of valuable veteran players from the team. They have signed so many contracts of huge value, that and Jamarcus Russel and the #4 overall picks contracts going to cost some huge amounts of money.

"Personally, I hope the Raiders get $100 million over the cap. This dysfunctional non-competitive team is a joke. And it couldn’t happen to a greater group of fans (Raider fans). Ha Ha. Then maybe RG will take action against that senile bat."

Wow, what a savvy observer of the National Football League. Al Davis may be a senile bat, but I bet he can count how many teams are over the salary cap. Just because everyone thinks the Raiders are spending too much money, doesn't mean that its going to impact them in future. You lemming.

If the Hall deal goes through, the Raiders will likely give him a contact in the neighborhood of the Eagles deal for Samuel.

Can the Raiders even afford the 4th Pick with the other monster contracts given out to DT Kelly, WR Walker and S Wilson?

this makes me wonder what happens to nmandi asoumanga and his franchise tag. If he hits the open market I will instantly become less of a fan of the deal that the eagles gave Samuel.

Now to come up with an appropriate nickname for this defense.

The first that comes to mind: "The Silver and Black Cul de sac"

The Donut D?

Or maybe: The Trump (Get it? Plenty on the sidelines, but a dead rat up the middle... c'mon, that's good.)

Would the Raiders and Falcons possibly be discussing the trade of Micheal Huff, Fabian Washington, or Stanford Routt in this deal with compensation picks to make up the difference?

I would value Huff more than hall so a third and Hall might equalize the deal. Routt and Hall would be the same value to me because Hall has baggage and a big price tag: in Routt you are getting a good size corner who can run fast and plays solid.

I am guessing the Falcons might not want Washington because they play a cover 2 shell that is used in Jacksonville. Routt and Huff would be nice fits in that defense because they can tackle.

Source: Falcons to trade Hall for Raiders' second-round pick in '08 draft
By Chris Mortensen
ESPN.com
(Archive)

The Atlanta Falcons have reached an agreement in principle with the Oakland Raiders to trade cornerback DeAngelo Hall for the Raiders' second-round pick in the 2008 draft, pending the Raiders finalizing a contract with Hall, according to a source close to the Falcons.

Hall is close to agreeing to a contract with the Raiders that will pay him just below what Asante Samuel signed with the Eagles, according to the source. Samuel signed a six-year deal worth a reported $57 million, with $20 million guaranteed.

Hall is a former first-rounder taken with the eighth pick in the 2004 draft.

The Atlanta Falcons have reached an agreement in principle with the Oakland Raiders to trade cornerback DeAngelo Hall for the Raiders’ second-round pick in the 2008 draft, pending the Raiders finalizing a contract with Hall, according to a source close to the Falcons.

DeAngelo Hall-DB- Falcons Mar. 15 - 6:04 pm et

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that the Falcons have agreed to send DeAngelo Hall to Oakland for the Raiders' 2008 second-round pick.

The Raiders must first finalize a contract with Hall that will pay him just below what Asante Samuel signed with the Eagles. This one might fall under the category of "be careful what you wish for." If Hall wasn't happy playing for the Falcons organization, welcome to Crazy Al's Raiders.

asoughmua and hall would be a really good cb duo, although they have to dish out money to a long term contract to hall, asoughmua and their no.4 pick but this still is a good trade for them because who is gonna throw on them?? and if russell comes along with mcfadden this can be a really good team or a really bad team if all the money theyre spending doesnt work out

Personally, I hope the Raiders get $100 million over the cap. This dysfunctional non-competitive team is a joke. And it couldn't happen to a greater group of fans (Raider fans). Ha Ha. Then maybe RG will take action against that senile bat.

So now they are going to pay Walker, Kelly, Hall 50 million?

What about Nnamdi Asomugha? Are they going to trade him or are they going to keep him and give him 40-50 million too? Raiders are just full of money, especially in the secondary, Michael Huff and Gibril Wilson are both making major dollars as well.

My god! The 'cash-strapped' Raiders are going to run Al Davis into the poorhouse. Maybe he's exclusively responsible for the insolvency of Social Security. Todd McShay must have be peeing his pants.
