Don't be too critical of him. He's won as many Super Bowls as Brett Favre. Plus he's had the disadvantage of going through life with the name Trent Dilfer.

“Trent Dilfer is a true professional in every meaning of the word,” said coach Mike Nolan.

I believe the same was said of elliot spitzer.

Dilfer in the Green and Gold is probably the best backup QB option the Packers have right now.

If Mad Mike needs someone to teach his system, former Wam QB Jaime Martin could be available soon now that Brunell's now an 'Aint. As for Dilfer, Da Bears can always use a competent game manager at QB.

Why get rid of him at all,

and I still don't understand why Quinn Gray is a Free agent

I think O'Sullivan is a better third option than Dilfer at this point. Martz needs a guy to help teach his system, and Dilfer certainly isn't that guy.

Dilfer would be better suited to retire at this point in his career, but don't be shocked if he ends up in Green Bay.

Niner's might regret that move later down the road. Alex Smith is the next Tim Kouch

If you've had him on your roster, you wouldn't say that about J.T. O'sullivan. Yes i realize he beat the Vikings when Kitna went down, but that was only because Longwell missed his game winner at the end of regulation.

Save one year, Dilfer has been "out" most of his career. Likable guy though.

No surprise there, the Dilfmiester played like road tar last year and J.T. O'Sullivan is a solid back up who I think may pull a Kurt Warner at some point in his career.
