Maybe the Raiders are trying to compile an All-Star team of guys with torn ACLs.  How else can their interest in receiver Javon Walker be explained?

Okay, Walker has had some strong performances, even after tearing a fairly important knee ligament (then again, they all are) in 2005.  But lingering problems with the knee limited him significantly last year, and prompted the Broncos to cut him loose after they could find no trade partners.

According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, Walker is visiting with the team and could sign a multi-year deal as soon as Wednesday.

Given the knee problems, Walker shouldn’t get a huge chunk of guaranteed money.  Instead, there should be a reasonable amount of compensation for 2008 and a large option or roster bonus in 2009, which would be picked up if he can perform well this season.

But the Raiders gave $18 million guaranteed to Tommy Kelly, who tore an ACL last season.
