Butch Stearns of WFXT in Boston reports (by way of our friends at Rotoworld.com) that Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers has a partially torn ACL, but will try to play on Sunday against the Patriots.

The Chargers had described Rivers’ injury as an MCL sprain.

Rivers reportedly plans to attempt to play.

Earlier in the week, we received a tip that Chargers quarterback Billy Voley had been told that he’ll be playing against the Patriots.  However, we couldn’t corroborate it.  Today’s report would tend to make it more plausible.
