The Rocky Mountain News reports that the Tennessee Titans hope to replace fired offensive coordinator Norm Chow with former offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger.

Heimerdinger worked for the Titans from 2000 through 2004, jumping to the Jets in 2005.  But after head coach Herm Edwards left for Kansas City following the 2005 season, Heimerdinger strong-armed his way out of New York, taking a job with the Broncos.

It remains to be seen whether the Broncos are willing to let Heimerdinger leave Denver.  The Titans were preparing to request permission to interview him on Tuesday.
