With the first annual Turd Watch game coming to an end on the Monday after the Super Bowl (we include that day in the event that there are any, for example, stabbings in the early mornings hours after the big game ends), the Jacksonville Jaguars are poised to make a run at the leaders, the Miami Dolphins.
The Fins have 68 points under our system of dishing out points for arrests, convictions, and guilty pleas. The Jags have 61, and counting.
They picked up another three on Monday, courtesy of a DUI arrest of defensive end Brent Hawkins.
Hawkins was pulled over for speeding, and later failed a field sobriety test. He told officers that he had three drinks.
Per the Florida Times-Union, Hawkins is the tenth Jaguar arrested since 2006.
Coincidentally (or perhaps not), two of the four remaining teams (Pats and Giants) have zero points, and the other two (Packers and Chargers) are in single digits.
