Speaking to the media after Sunday’s loss to the Giants, Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens cried when talking about the possibility that quarterback Tony Romo will be criticized for the potential effect of his Mexican vacation on his performance.
So . . . throwing up in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl is bad, but a bye week trip to Cabo is okay?
Look, we’ve got no problem with a grown man shedding some tears. But certain things shouldn’t move a grown man to tears. Like whether his teammate — also a grown man — will be able to shoulder any flak he takes for exercising his prerogative as a grown man to do something about which grown men might be criticized.
Regardless, it made for compelling television. Too bad we didn’t have our popcorn ready.
