THE PFT 2007 ALL-TURD TEAM!
MISCELLANEOUS
The biggest problem with our annual All-Turd offense and defense is that we left out special teams and coaching. So here are the last few spots on the roster.
Todd Sauerbrun, P, Broncos: Sauerbrun had this one locked up even before getting suspended for ephedra last year.
Sebastian Janikowski, K, Raiders: Janikowski pretty much gets this one by default. Really, who else could it be? Especially with Mike Vanderjagt out of the league.
Koren Robinson, KR, Packers: Robinson made the Pro Bowl in 2005 as a kick returner, and then squandered his chance to fully rehabilitate his career by getting busted after leading police on a high-speed chase back to Vikings camp.
Richie Anderson, offensive assistant coach, Cardinals (formerly): Anderson was busted for trying to pay for sex. He was promptly fired.
Larry Zierlein, offensive assistant coach, Steelers: Zierlein's misadventures with his e-mail account helped us to spruce up an otherwise sssslow time in the season.
Joe Cullen, defensive assistant, Lions: We still can't figure out how a guy gets arrested roughly a week apart for driving drunk but clothed, and sober but naked.
Mike Shanahan, head coach, Broncos: Sorry, Broncos fans, but an insatiable appetite for turdish players coupled with a habit of using polygraph tests to ferret them out puts him at the top of the list. Or bottom.
Ernie Accorsi, G.M., Giants (retired): No one in the "real" media will ever call out one of their own, but Accorsi is the guy who put together a dysfunctional roster and coaching staff that has undermined the franchise's efforts over the past few years to win more games than it loses.
Bill Polian, G.M., Colts: Whether he's openly rooting in the press box (a serious breach of etiquette) or throwing employees of other teams up against a wall, Polian is an old-school bully who'll likely be even worse now that he has a Super Bowl on his resume.
John Jones, President, Packers (former): Jones managed to get run out the door before he even was officially on the job.
Arthur Blank, Owner, Falcons: Someone has to be responsible for the fiasco that Mike Vick's career has become. Why not the guy who coddled and enabled him ever since the day he bought the team?
